I just returned from a trip to Montreal, and came to the shocking realization that I don't like eating beef every day  Looking at my ADRs for November, I was wondering what the popular opinion was on which of these 4 restaurants have the best steak?

Les Chefs de France: Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts - Grilled tenderloin of beef with a black pepper sauce original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans

Coral Reef: Grilled New York Strip Steak - served with horseradish smashed potatoes, and market fresh vegetables

Jiko: Oak-Grilled Filet Mignon - with hominy "risotto", California delta asparagus and Red Wine Sauce

Citricos
: Oak-grilled Filet of Beef - Spanish Onions, Peppadew and Banana Peppers, Quattro Formaggi Crushed Potatoes, and Veal Glace de Viand

And of course 'other' is an option :) Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

***We will be on the dining plan, so I don't foresee going to any restaurants outside of the plan.***

Definitely not Coral Reef. I like Le Cellier's mushroom filet with truffle butter sauce. While I've never loved Yachtsman, I'm starting to like the sound of their porterhouse. And then there's Shula's (off the DDP, though) which is supposed to be the best.

other:

dining plan- yachtsman steakhouse

non dining plan- shula's steakhouse

I also went with other.

Shula's has the best steaks on property. The only steaks worth having, IMO.

Other - Yachtsman.

Of the ones listed in the poll, Jiko would get honorable mention.

I voted for 'other'...LeCeiler has a great steak, but if you want the best...Victoria and Albert's has the best Kobe beef! We have never tried Shulas, but hear it's outstanding!

I have two places....I love Le Cellier's Mushroom Fillet and California Grill's Oak Fired Grilled Fillet Mignon

Yachtsman by far. Of the choices you listed, Jiko is a distant second. :)

Flying Fish has one of the best steaks on property. I know, I know, you're thinking FF for steak, but they grill it on a wood fire and char it really nice with these drippings. YUMMY! We get it every time we eat there(which is at least once every trip) and it's amazing.

Of the specific choices you gave, I voted for Jiko hands down. I didn't like the steak at Coral Reef at all; it was really fatty and not very tender. I happen to enjoy the steak at Le Chefs, but I've never been able to get it done just right (I like my steak medium rare and it always is more medium.) I would never order the steak at Citrico's because I hate onion (and I don't like asking restaurants to dramatically alter the preparation of a dish - for my kids, sure, but not for me.)

Other favorites are Yachtsman & Le Cellier - prefer the filet at both. I guess I prefer a filet most of the time when I order a steak.

Thank you all for your responses so far. I should've been more clear in my original post. What I was trying to communicate was that I'd like to have no more than one filet or steak while we're there, so given the ADRs that we've made (which are not likely to change), at which one of those restaurants should I have that one filet or steak? Hmmm... I don't even know if my second attempt to explain what I mean makes sense :rotfl:

In any case, I do appreciate all of your input!!! :thumbsup2 :worship:

I think the problem was putting down the option "other," because none of these options stand out for steak IMO.

Of those options, I think Jiko has the best steak. Coral Reef was pretty bad, IMO.
