Best Steak on the Boardwalk?

Weel, after originaly planning to go to WL or AKL lodge for dinner on our night of arrival at BWV, DH now says he's like to have a nice steak dinner near the resort. So what's our best bet on the Boardwalk - this would include all the resorts - Swan Dolphin, too.
Where do you think you could get the best steak for the money?

Great way to start off your trip!

The only place I've ever had a steak (actually filet minon) ON the Boardwalk was at Spoodles, and while it was good, I'd suggest heading across the lagoon to the Yacht & Beach Club and visit Yachtsman's Steakhouse. It's a bit pricey, but they have the best steaks of any place on property that I've found.

There is also Shulas at the Dolphin (haven't been there yet) but it's at the top end of the price scale!

Everyone has different tastes.Some swear that Flying Fish
has the best steak(haven't had anything but fish there yet)Some swear by the Yachtsman's Steak House at YC while others (including us) like Shula's at the Dolphin but it is $$$$. Some may just bypass them all together and head into Epcot to Le Cellier.DD loves the steak with peppercorn sauce at Chef's de France. Tough choice.

I have eaten steak at Yachtsman's Steakhouse (many times), Shulas (once) and Flying Fish (many times) and they all have excellent steak but my hands down, all time favorite is the Seared NY strip steak at Flying Fish. It is out of this world, it is so good! Yachtsmans and Shulas also have great steaks with Shulas being very expensive but I love the seared NY strip at Flying Fish. It is nicely seared on the outside while still being nice and juicy on the inside with a wonderful Bernaise sauce------YUMMMY! My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Hands down, it's Shula's for the best steak anywhere on Disney property. It is absolutely wonderful and a very nice dining experience. Here is my review from my upcoming book:

Steakhouse at the Walt Disney World Dolphin. Dinner only; business casual dress. Open nightly 5-11 PM.
Owned by Don Shula, this handsome restaurant is themed on the Miami Dolphins’ 1972 undefeated season well depicted in attractively framed black and white pictures embellishing the rich wood-paneled rooms. The dimly lit, dark hued interior is clubby and comfortable, outfitted in dark cherry wood, loads of shiny brass, cushy high-backed upholstered chairs, leather banquettes, and white linen-covered tables. What doesn’t fit its sophisticated atmosphere is the menu printed on a pigskin football and the rolling tray of raw meat explained in detail (a la Morton’s) by a member of the knowledgeable and friendly wait staff. However, the Angus beef steaks are sensational, done to perfection, and accompanied by mouthwatering sourdough bread. Sides include sharing portions of caesar salad, creamed spinach, oversized baked potatoes, great hash browns, or broccoli with hollandaise sauce. And with Frank Sinatra crooning in the background, what else could you ask for? Shula’s outstanding California wine list was given a 2002 Wine Spectator Restaurant Award. Oh, and don’t leave without lingering over a chocolate souffle or stopping in the adjoining clubby lounge, perfect for cigars and cognac.

Tip: Those traveling with small children should take advantage of the 2 hours of complimentary childcare at Camp Dolphin. Be sure and reserve ahead of time and enjoy your time alone.

As the unofficial Restaurant Board spokesperson for Shula's it's nice to see that others have the same good taste as mine.

Shula's is by far the best steak on property. Huge portions. Excellent service. But you pay for it and it is well worth it.

I'd disagree with the "friendly" wait staff tho--"correct" and efficient, but not as Disney friendly as they shoud be. And for a place with a renowned wine list, the beer list is pathetic. But then--it's your book
As to the original question--the "for the money "part might mean anything, but Shula's does have the best "meat" on property. Serious steak and very well prepared. The Porterhouse was out of this world good!!
Just down the list would be YSH--I can vouch for their Bourbon Crusted NY Strip.
Never had the steak at FF but nearly all those who have say it's quite good.

The Flying Fish Strip Steak!!
We sat at the grill and watched DH strip being grilled over the oak logs. The griller chose his steaks from the meat locker drawer with care, returning some before choosing one. He then coated it on both sides with the "special coating" comprised of 16 different spices. He grilled it with care until perfect. My husband took a bite, turned to me (his favorite steak chef in the world) and said quietly, "You're fired!".

Maybe I'm way out in left field with this...but if you use Connections vouchers you can order a wonderful filet or a prime rib at Coronado Springs pepper Market for $11.50 each.

We did this our last vacation. In addition to the steak OR prime rib entree our voucher included a drink and dessert. HELLO!!! This was a great deal!

Even if you don't have the vouchers, Coronado Springs Pepper Market had by far the best price values for what we ordered. THEY ARE FABULOUS!

It is not a sit down served situation. You go to the stations...and get your food totally HOT OFF tHE GRILL just like mom did for you at home!

I agree the strip steak at Flying Fish is to die for, very tasty!! I used to like the steaks at The Yachtsmen but they have gone sky high on their prices and service isn't as good as it used to be.

Another vote for Yachtsmen at BC.

We always make sure to go at least twice (in 10 day
trip).
Bourbon steak (my favorite), filets (both DD and DS-DS
very picky!!!) but DH says Surf and Turf is to die for.

Excluding Le Cellier in Epcot (that has good steaks btw) we have only dined at the Yachtsman Steakhouse (twice) and loved it. We'll have to try the Flying Fish since it sounds yummy. I'd like to try Shula's and actually prices for the steak aren't much higher than the Yachtsman but at least you get a choice of potato with it at YS. $6 for a baked potato at Shula's? I KNOW in the scheme of things that seems trivial but if 3 of us want a baked potato it's an extra $18? I know I sound like I'm being cheap and I'm sorry because I'm usually not but it's more the principle of the thing.....

We ate at Shula's in Dec. and wasn't very impressed with it. My wife and myself split a steak and it was a little tough and dry. I also did not like that they charged a ten dollar fee to split a meal. We ate at Jiko's on our last night and got the beef tenderloin dinner with macaroni and cheese and it was out of this world. It was a whole lot better then Shula's.

With the size of the portions at Shula's you may only need one potatoe. The portions are HUGE!!!!! We saw someone get the Buffalo Tomato Salad and I swear you could ski it. DW and I share everything but the steak.

They tell you "Resort Casual" when you make a PS. On our visits it has been no different the any of the other WDW establishments. Come as you are.

I've had steaks at Yachtsman's Steak House, Le Cellier, Concourse Steakhouse and Flying Fish. I haven't eaten at Shula's yet.

That being said... The NY Strip Steak at the Flying Fish is the best steak I've EVER had - ANYWHERE! It has such a fantastic flavor and it's cooked to perfection. It's served with Sauce Foyot, which is a form of Bearnaise sauce and usually with potatoes and green beans. I've had it three times and I can't wait to have it again!

That's a good idea Eeyore2U. If the portions are huge I probably wouldn't need a potato for myself. And after taking another look at the menus I realized that the prices ARE very similar to the Yachtsman and I don't think twice about eating there. Have to try the Flying Fish now too. When we're on vacation there's nothing like dining out and having a good steak!
