Best steak at a seafood restaurant?

Hi everyone! I LOVE seafood and my husband does not touch it. I know this sounds strange but I'm looking for a recommendation on a good seafood restaurant that also has an amazing steak (if possible). Currently we have reservations for Flying Fish as I saw they have a strip steak, but does anyone know if it is really good? We only have one night out on our own so I want to find somewhere with the best of both worlds :) Thanks!

Being a seafood lover, I've never ordered a steak at a seafood restaurant. However, people rave about the strip steak at Flying Fish. The steak at Coral Reef also has mostly positive reviews.

I've had the steak at FF and it is quite good. It's a NY Strip, cooked rather like Pittsburgh style--charred on the outside. You can order it w/o the sauce , or with the sauce on the side if you don't want the steak covered in it.

I have tried the steak at FF and agree that its better to order seafood at a seafood restaurant. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't wonderful.

I personally love the steak at FF. I'd put in on par with any of the filets at CG or Jiko and it's way better than Le Cellier.

I haven't eaten at FF, but can attest to Coral Reef having a lovely steak. One of the best I had on property last trip.

Flying Fish, hands down...a must do for us each trip. I usually get some kind of fish and my DH gets the steak. The steak is large and fabulous. :thumbsup2

Your other option would be to go to a steakhouse and get the fish. :lmao: The Yachtsman would be a good place to try that. I personally love FF, but we never get steak there.

I too had a wonderful steak at Coral Reef last year. It was better than anything we'd gotten from LeCellier.

Haven't been to FF or Yachtsman yet though.

I'm another non-fish eater, so I had the strip at FF. It was very good, done perfectly for me. I would go back just for that, plus everything else we ordered there was excellent, as was the service.

Thank you so much everyone! I appreciate all of your feedback.

I also thought to go to a steakhouse and order seafood for myself, and was seriously considering the Yachtsmen since we are staying at the Yacht Club but was a little turned off by the reviews on tripadvisor. I know I need to take everything with a grain of salt though and understand that everyone has different expectations/opinions.

Same here! We just had the steak at FF last night, and it was great, as always!:thumbsup2

Keep the FF ADR! I love steak and seafood and have eaten both at FF. Their steak is excellent....as is everything else they serve. I've never had anything there that wasn't amazing.

Sometimes they will have another meat dish on the menu in addition to the steak. I think it was Pork Tenderloin on my last visit. So your DH may have more than one choice.

We went to Narcoossee's because the rest of my family loves Maine lobster. I'm allergic to it so I ordered the filet. It was perfectly grilled and delicious. I highly recommend it.

A PP mentioned Le Cellier. The grilled rib eye steak on the dinner menu was my favorite steak on our last trip to DW.

My fiance and I both LOVE the steak at Coral Reef! Plus we both really enjoy the atmosphere! And The Chocolate Wave dessert is my absolute favorite dessert ever!

Just in case you haven't been convinced, another vote for Flying Fish. The steak there is cooked perfectly. It's my wife's favorite.

The sea food there is excellent as well. I'm a big fan of their rare ahi tuna, but we've had other fish dishes that were really good. The only thing that didn't wow us (oddly) was their signature potato wrapped snapper. It seemed a little bland, although it gets great reviews, so it may be our tastes or just the one we had wasn't done well.

Enjoy!

Thanks so much everyone, you sure are making me hungry ;) Is there anywhere else around there for a good dessert, or adult dessert drink?

Todd English's bluezoo at the Dolphin has the best drinks. Their lounge is fantastic. Flying Fish also has very good desserts. I don't think you'd go wrong at Shula's or Il Mulino either.
