Hi All!

The hubby and I will be celebrating our anniversary at the world, he's big into steak and potatoes, and I'm up for a splurge. We've tried Yachtsman Steakhouse and loved it. Le Cellier is booked solid for the dates we are staying and for some reason hubby has no interest in Shula's.

Anyplace that you might suggest we try for a wonderful steak that I might be missing?

TIA! :goodvibes

The filet at Jiko is outstanding. I've also heard wonderful things about Shula's, at the Swan/Dolphin.

I had a great steak at the Grand Floridian Cafe, as well.

DH is a steak man and he loved GFC, Flying Fish and Citricos...each meal he had a NY Strip (filet at Citricos) and his meal was fantastic

Honestly, I'd work on trying to change your husband's mind about Shula's. There's not a better steak anywhere in Disney World.

I just looked up the Jiko menu, and it sounds so delish! Thank you!

Turf Club at SSR.

That might just be perfect since we are staying at SSR! :thumbsup2

I'm with you! Especially since there's a Restaurant.com coupon for Shula's!

Thanks again everyone! :goodvibes

We just returned from WDW and had an amazing steak at the Turf Club SSR. I second that one. :thumbsup2

Hard to believe he has no interest in Shula's, as it has BETTER steak than either Le Cellier or Yachtsman.
But if it's out--it's out.
Flying Fish has a great NY Strip. IT's the only steak thay have, but it's good.

Coral Reef & Kona....I have had steaks at both these places and they were AMAZING (right up there with the filet from Le Cellier). May not sound like Steak & Potato places but still a great piece of meat! ;)

1) Select Shula's.
. . . great steaks
. . . your selection of sides
. . . very few kids, so it it romantic for an anniversary
2) You sure don't want
. . . a noisy place
. . . an eatery with kids being loud or obnoxious
. . . and eatery with adults being loud or obnoxious

I'm done with Le Cel after eating at Grand Floridian Cafe. The steak was at least as good, the potatoes were fantastic, and we also got another veggie with our meal. We all got roasted corn and it was unbelievable. And while I love the cheese soup, athe grilled onion soup with gruyere cheese at GFC was also very good. And since it's at the Grand Floridian, you'll get all those fancy feelings of a splurge.

I liked the filet at Jikos better than the one at LeCellier. I thought it was weird that it came with mac and cheese and thought about subbing a potato. was I GLAD Ididn't!! it was a white cheese and SO yummy!

Thank you everyone for the great advise! You've given me some great ideas that I'm going to run with! :goodvibes

Have to go with Shula's. With all due repect, your hubby doesn't know what he's talking about! :) If you are concerned that it is a sports bar type atmophere, like ESPN, it is not. Although it apparently has a dress code, I sw people showing up in shorts there. So a nice pair of pants and shirt will suffice. Amazing steak, giant baked potatoes, nice dark, quiet atmosphere with few kids. Perfect for an anniverary dinner! It is expensive, I admit, but well worth it for a special occasion. Take a look at the Shula pics in our trip report(the last food pics on page 2):

He is a steak lover and has no interest in Shula's? :confused3

If Shula's is off the table then I would say the filet and mac and cheese would be the next best steak on property.

But the filet and "hashbrown" at Shula's is the best by far.

Another vote for The Turf Club at SSR. But - shhhhhhhhhhhh! Don't tell anyone, we're trying to keep that a secret! :thumbsup2 ;)

I would suggest Grand Floridian Cafe. We had dinner there in September and it was wonderful. It is a must do on our list for the next trip.
