If we (me, dh dd6 &ds4) were to only go to one stage show (besides play house disney) which one do you think that we should not miss?

I agree -- Lion King is the best in all of WDW, for all ages.

I don't know when you're going, but I've read there's to be a new Nemo show this fall.

"Festival of the Lion King" at Animal Kingdom is SPECTACULAR for all ages.
Its in an indoor air conditioned theater with great sound and lighting.

The show itself is a wonderful variety with magnificent singing, acrobatics, comedy, amazing animal "puppets" and... well, its the best!

"Beauty and the Beast On Stage" at MGM is good, too.
Lots of great singing and dancing and over-sized characters (Beast, Mrs. Potts, Chip, Cogsworth, Lumiere).
The "Be Our Guest" number is a "must-see."

"Voyage of the Little Mermaid" (MGM) is very exciting and fun for most guests. Ariel is "live on-stage" and has a beautiful singing voice.
Most of the rest of the cast are amazing puppets.

Even "Flights of Wonder" (Animal Kingdom, again) is very good, too.
Lots of live birds performing "natural behavior" (not bicycle-riding) and an upbeat and funny "human" cast as well.

Oddly enough, the show you mentioned (Playhouse Disney) is pleasant enough for VERY young children, but it does not even belong in the same category as the other amazing stage shows at WDW. If I were going to miss one show because of time-limits, I'd choose to pass up Playhouse Disney. It will not be NEARLY as memorable as the others I mentioned (even Flights of Wonder)...
But do try to see as many as you can.

I'm counting on seeing Beauty and the Beast (along w/ Fantasmic) for the first time this trip to help me see the magic in MGM -- really want to truly enjoy this park on a true Disney level for a change.

Beauty and the Beast is delightful -- and hot. I really hope they enclose the theater someday, as they have at the AK!

But I confess that I miss the doves they used to release at the end of the show. Rumor has it that they stopped because local hawks got in the habit of stopping by the theater for a late afternoon snack...the feathered kind. :sad2:

And I think I recall that at the "transformation" of Beast, that there used to be "red-jet" of pyrotechnics that shot up from the floor of the stage.

Anyone remember that?

(Its still a great show!)

That's easy...Hunchback of Notre Dame at MGM...no, wait...they closed that one.

Okay...so then definitely it has to be Tarzan Rocks, Live on Stage at DAK. No...wait...they closed that one too.

Nah...I'm not bitter about that, lol...

Of the ones that are left, Festival of the Lion King at DAK gets top marks in guest surveys.

No question.....Beauty and the Beast at MGM! I absolutely adore it!

(Wasn't that crazy about the Lion King but maybe that's because it was so flippin' hot!!! So, they've closed in the theater now??)

That is outstanding! I'd pretty much written it off for the next trip!
