Well, the very best spot we ever had was when Alice in Wonderland broke down while we were on it, and we happened to be on the outside platform facing Matterhorn...just as the parade was beginning! Not quite sure you can pull that one off, though, LOL!
We don't watch a lot of parades, but when we have watched them, I like the walls on either side of the stairs leading up to the Main Street train station. We haven't done it in a long time but it seems at least a portion of the wall was low enough so that we could stand next to it and let my then 4 year old daughter stand on the wall while we held onto her. That way she could see the whole parade really well.
About 10 years ago, I waited about 2 hours for a good spot on the curb on Main Street for the Christmas parade. That was a really good spot, but I would probably never wait that long for a parade again.
