We are traveling to Walt Disney World in December (all the visits, we've never done Mickey's Very Merry Christmas...but I digress). I am trying to gather some information on the best place to observe Illuminations that time of year. I assume Christmas decorations may obscure the view from some areas that are normally good viewing areas. Appreciate the feedback. pixiedust:

Epcot has no real distraction at Christmas except the tree in World Showcase Plaza which is the space between the two shops at the start of World Showcase.

My favorite spot becomes a mess during Christmas time because of Candlelight Processional. I would suggest any where between Mexico and China as long as you have a clear view of all the barges in the water. There will be extra barges for the extra fireworks so make sure you can see all of them.

Stay away from Morocco to France and UK to Canada because an Island blocks your way. Same as Italy back around to China as there are islands that block your view there.

Also since Candlelight Processional will be going on and it is the holidays expect a lot more private parties and such on the lagoon. These are usually on the France bridge, Italy bridge, and close to the Future World Side of World Showcase in between the two shops up there.

Whatever way the wind is blowing the other side of the lagoon is the best.

The Mexico side of Norway.
Similar, but not quite as good is the China side of Norway.

Unobstructed and close view. Close access to bathrooms, snacks, drinks, adult beverages. The Mexican Cantina forces the sidewalk traffic away from this location, so it is somewhat away from crowds. Easy out when show is over (go past the old Odyssey restaurant, which also has good bathrooms).

If the park is busy, claim your spot 45-60 minutes before the show for front row viewing. 20-45 minutes for second row viewing. After that, it'll be five or more deep.

My favorite spot is on the bridge between England and France, mainly because you beat the rush out of the park.
