Best-spent $20 EVER!

I called my AAA TA to see about taking advantage of the PIN e-mail I got earlier this week. Sadly, she said by the time we un-packaged stuff to take advantage of the room-only deal, fees, etc., it really wasn't going to save us any money. Then she said my 5 new favorite words: "But I have another option. ..."

(We are currently 6 people, 3 nights in 2 rooms in DLH with 2 PH days). For the princely sum of $20 TOTAL, we are getting a fourth night at the DLH plus another day in the park.

I have no idea what voodoo math she used to work this, but I don't really care. I was planning on buying the 3rd day PH anyway (almost $200 for the 6), so this is a major score for us!

After telling DH, you are the next people to know because I knew you would be happy for me!

Moral of the story: it's always worth a few phone calls to save some $$$$!

I wouldn't say she was totally on the lookout ... I called and left her a message Thursday morning and had to call her back today at noon when she hadn't returned my call.

Once she did figure out what I wanted (the PIN deal) and that it wouldn't work out as well, she did provide me with a great alternative. I had heard about the 4-night deal here on DIS but hadn't thought about how it could work for me. I do appreciate her creative thinking.

I am always a little OCD when it comes to my travel plans, so I don't use travel agents often. But at one point there were 19 people going in our group and the trip was getting too big for me to handle alone. We're now down to a nice manageable 14.

WE can start a new club- all of us who saved money on our next trip!! I saw a previous thread about the pin (which I did not receive) but another poster mentioned the $400 off sale. I called my TA and she got it done! YEA!!!
