Hi everybody!

Just trying to work out how much I need to save before my Wonder-ful cruise in May, sooooo...

What are the bestest souvenirs available on the ship or on Castaway Cay?!

Thanks in advance for all your help!

We bought Castaway Cay shirts for our family that are really cool, and only available on the island. We also bought a stuffed Mickey and Minnie dressed in resort garb that are adorable and solely available on the island. On our next cruise in 2006 I want a sterling silver cruise ship charm for my bracelet. I regret not purchasing it last time we sailed. It was on the ship in one of the shops...

Hope this helps!

sandiegosusie,
iIs that an Italian charm bracelet? I was thinking of starting one.

I love the glasses they give you with the drinks you buy at the sailaway party. I have several and love taking them out when I'm hanging out with my friends by the pool. It makes it feel a little like vacation (even though we're drinking ice tea instead of Bahama Mamas). My husband bought a t-shirt on Castaway Cay that he loves.

Does anyone remember the prices of Adult shirts at Castaway Cay or on the ship? Or the price of a Disney Beach towel?
Thanks!

On the ship in September, I purchased a short sleeved adult t-shirt for $19 (ship with confetti/characters) and a Disney beach towel for $20. There are about 6 different towels to choose from. Not sure what the t-shirts are going for on CC; we unfortunately missed it due to hurricane Jeanne. I would think the prices are comparable.

The most important thing to remember about the cruise is that, if you want it, get it. You won't be able to find it after you leave the ship....plus "no tax".
My favorite shopping is the specialty nights in Treasure Ketch...including $5 sterling silver bracelets and ankle bracelets....$5 charm bracelets...gold sold by the inch $.95 per inch....Men's and Ladies designer watches....loose gemstones $10 per carat....cosmetics plus more. It's a lot of fun to shop on board and at Castaway Cay. Enjoy! We just got back last week from a 7 night and simply can't stop talking about it.

Kid's T-shirt $17.00
Mom's cap-sleeved shirt $24.00 - Believe standard T was $19.00
Dad has already worn his, so I don't remember.

Hope this helps.

The "Best souvenirs".. arrive about 9 months after your cruise.... You may have had to see the comercial to understand where I am coming from.... *hehe

Here are pictures of some of our favorite DCL souvenirs:

An autographed map of the caribbean. The Captain will autograph these maps which they sell right there in the shops. I believe the map was around $10-20. He also took his Sharpie marker and drew in our itinerary which was a bit different than usual because of Hurricane Frances. In the second pic, it's in a frame I bought at home.

Ship's model. Cost $28. The Captain signed this, too.

We had two 3D laser-cut crytals made. One of them has the 3D images of DH and I, the other one has the 3D images of DSs.

This is what the plastic hurricane glasses look like:

I like the Ship christmas ornament. It is glass and looks like it could be a Radko ornament, but it is not. Every year, my kids love discussing all of the ornaments that we put on the tree and I know that this one will bring back all the good memories of our recent cruise. :D

The pin selection is awesome. The cruise items are only available on the ship ---so shop til' you drop. The Howard Miller prop clock is a winner.

Nice SeaSpray! All nice! I think the best souviner I purchased was the 8X10 pix of me and the children (see below) on the other side is the pix of the Wonder, just like SeaSpray. And I have the smaller one, the pix taken at Triton's and on the other side it's the pix of CC with Wonder in the backround..very nice!

I also bought a nice DCL picture frame to put my other pixs that I purchased on board. I love my DCL beach towel that I use everyday! I got those Mickey and Minnie plushed magnets and it on my refrig right now. I also got CC magents too. CC pens..CC pants and 3/4 sleeve shirt that goes together... Plus the kids toys, shirts...

Oh yeah..I SPENT! I just didn't know if that was going to be my first and last trip on DCL so... I played it smart got almost everything I wanted. I don't regret leaving anything behind. Shutters is what got me!! I paid a little over $200!! I bought a few 8X10 and the smaller size. I couldn't help it, my kids are too young to take pixs, and I am never on the pix so... I bought them!

Sorry for rambling here...

My favorite item purchased on our first Disney Cruise Nov 4/04 was a blue fleece sweatshirt with the Disney characters logo on one side. It sure came in handy in the evenings on the ship well walking on the deck and enjoying the night time air. And for our Canadian winters, its especially nice and warm. :cloud9:

Definitely the pictures.....They cost a bundle and they are timeless souvenirs. All the little things....pens, postcards pins are unique too. and everything is tax free.

My DH likes to buy a towel everytime we go to any WDW destination....I love my CC towel

I collect Disney snowglobes and bought a beautiful Disney Cruiseline snowglobe which was my favorite purchase! I also bought some really cool pins....I think the cruise was actually where I got into the whole pin thing! :goodvibes We did buy a couple t-shirts as well. I can't remember how much I spent but I do remember coming home with money left :)

I bought a sweatsuit jacket that I love. It was $24, zips up and is blue with the DCL logo, red along the bottom of the sleeves and the elastic on the jacket. I wear it everytime I need to "getaway." My mom regrets not getting one, I really wish there was a way that I could get her one now.

My Mickey sarong - it was only $16 I think - can't wait to wear it this summer. Love the glass ship ornament. I picked up a hologram cup at CC, I want to say it was $8.50. My 4-year-old DS and I take turns using it. A $54 :faint: zip up sweat jacket with DISNEY CRUISE LINE on it. I'd never pay that much at home but I love it and I knew I'd kick myself if I didn't get it. I'm sure the scrapbook will be one of my favs as soon as I get around to working on it. :goodvibes

I'd have to say it's the pics we bought from Shutters- that is totally worth the $$- buy the package deal- they are great people to work with- you can exchange- make additional copies, etc... Another nice thing was a Disney frame from the gift shop.
