What is the best souvenir in the park for preschoolers? I read somewhere they have charms and charm bracelets/necklaces. The charms are around three bucks each. I love the ideas of autographs and we are going to get mouse ears. Are there any traps to stay away from?

Every year my son comes home with little Disney figures. They are sold in a themed set and are around $12.00. The sets he has: Peter Pan, Toy Story and The Incredibles. They also have sets for girls too! Each set comes with about 7 or 8 pieces/characters (ie: Peter Pan Set came with Peter Pan, Cptn Hook, Smee, Tinkerbell, a canon, a treasure chest etc.) They were a great purchase for the price and he still has them all in one piece - very durable! You can find them in almost every souvenir shop.

We like the Mr. Potato Head parts - where for $19 you get a box and cram as much as you can into the box. It is yours for the $19 as long as you can get the lid on.

Don't forget to get the arms, the standard taters arms don't hold the accesories and no need to get the tater, he takes up too much room in the box. Get a tater at Wal-Mart and parts at WDW!

My 8 & 17 yr. old love to play with their taters it really is comical!

Here are some of our faves:

1. hats
2. pins
3. pressed pennies and hunting down all of the penny press machines
4. die cast character cars and Cars cars (WDW has a SUPER selection)
5. I second the little Disney figurines
6. popcorn buckets (great for holding the little figurines and cars!)
7. Potato head parts (bring or buy your own potato separately)

haven't tried yet:

1. charms (that could get pricey quick -- they are all adorable)
2. Pony and pony accessories
3. pirate and princess hats w/jewels and accessories
4. light up necklaces and gadgets

Two years ago for our kids, before we left, we bought canvas Mickey bags like many kindergarten teachers require. We brought them to the parks with a few different colored sharpies and had them autographed. They ended up having probably 2 dozen autographs on it and is still a very usable bag.

This can be an additional "souvenier" that is very inexpensive.

Potato Head parts are #1 on our list
We also like pins, hats. We did get a couple of the light up toys in October and they have held together and DS still plays with them daily.

Great Idea! Did you buy the Canvas Bag before arriving at Disney? If so, where did you purchase it? I am on a mission now! Leaving in 7 days!:hourglass

I couldn't tell you where we got it, but it wasn't WDW. You should be able to find a plain canvas tote at a craft store near where you live. I know you can make iron-on images on the computer know for that part, but I don't know how those hold up.

I'll re-post if I can recall where those came from.

I made a Disney blankie for DD when she was a toddler. It had a cotton Minnie print on one side, and lightweight fleece on the other. I sewed a handle on it so we could attach it to her stroller. We had the characters autograph it. She's 7 now and still treasures it.

When my daughter was small she was allowed at the end of the day to pick out the small figurines they were about $3 a piece. They are in bins and they can pick and choose different characters for different parks they are not stuck with one character and they have something to play with and is easy to carry because they are only about 2 inches tall and light.

We thought the best keepsake deal was the personal cut-out silhouettes made at Disney, I think in Liberty Square. A personal piece of art, something to cherish, not just another trinket to get lost or stepped on! (In my opinion!)

Thanks so much!

The canvas bag is really cute. My DD is starting Preschool in September that would be fun to bring to school.

I think I will also have their profiles done. That is not a trinket we will loose!

Just remember no question is a stupid question . . .

What is the deal with the collector pins?
