Aside from Stingray City, what is the best snorkeling on the Western? We have our own gear.

Thanks!

We found Cozumel to have the best snorkeling.
Hooked up a tour right off the boat to the left are some docks.
The boats are small glassbottom boats (red). We were 4 adults and 5 children. 9 total paid $100
The guy has a photo album and we took a risk, but it was good snorkeling. We were out for 3 hours in three reefs.

The boats hold about 14 people. We paid $20 for the adults and $10 for the two older kids. The 3 yrs did not pay. It's all about haggling. They started at $35/head. 3 people joined the tour and had paid double.

We saw Fury and it seemed more official, but we did not mind the locals tour. (i speak spanish).(not required)

In Cozumel

If you want to go on your own (free - well almost; buy a few drinks and/or food from the locals), avoid the crowds try Dzul Ha in Cozuymel:

Bathrooms are clean, you snorkle off shore, and the coral is alive.

Warning - put your sunscreen on somewhere else, the sunscreen police will warn you not to apply suncreen there because they claim it kills the coral.

Cozumel Sally goes there...

in Grand Cayman:

There is good snorkeling in Grand Cayman besides the tour (Stingray City, Coral Gardens and the wall).

Good snorkeling just south of the tender pier (Abanks? and as far south (long, but still walking distance << 2 miles - Smith's cove)
