Wondering if anyone could tell me what is the best way to use your snack credits as more of a "meal" rather than a sweet/dessert?

I've read that there are side salads, egg rolls, soups, etc throughout the parks.
Does anyone have any photos of just these types of snacks? Looking for something with alittle more substance to hold us over between breakfast and dinner.

Thanks in advance for the help

When we were on the meal plan we preferred to use our snack credit for a light breakfast item like a pastry and then buy a beverage to go with it. We usually don't like to eat a heavy breakfast and this satisfied us until lunch.
Another option might be to split a breakfast platter for both lunch and get one other combo meal to split for lunch. In this case we usually used out snack option for a bottle of water in the afternoon. Dinner, of course, was a full meal for both us us. We're two adults and as much as we love to eat we're trying not to eat too much.
Finally, if we used a CS option for lunch we might save the dessert for a snack later in the afternoon. These strategies worked for us, but a lot will depend on your family's preferences and personal eating habits.

Good uses of snack credits for meals are: Bowl of chili, cheese fries, bagel and we use snack credits for breakfast like dansish, bagel etc.

You can also use it for a bowl or cup of fruit, which we do. We split a breakfast and lunch and use ts for supper. The fruit helps the breakfast to meet our needs. Also, it depends where you go, one time DH got a turkey leg for a snack credit. Blew us away!

My two personal favorites are chili and yogurt. Several places - last time I tried - will alternately let you pick 'yogurt' as a dessert option. The Quick serve in WL has a yogurt for brekafast with fresh berries; I don't recall if that falls outside the snack boundaries or not. Oh, except the chili at Pop Century for some reason is not as good as other places on property. The chili at the GF's quick serve is pretty good.

I also know you can pick a fresh fruit as a snack, but it's not always the best value. A banana is not very much money. Where they let you get strawberries or a cup of grapes it's pretty good deal. Fresh fruit is limited at WDw, so where ever I see it as an option, I tend to go for it!

I take back what I said - the VERY best way to use snack credits is at the Food and Wine Festival booths, but I don't suppose you are asking about an October/November trip at this time of year.

If all else fails, you can use snack credits to buy a few things that can go home. Packages of cookies, packages of candies. I know - not what you asked about - but if they are packaged items you can give them as little gifts. If you choose this option - DO NOT wait until your last morning. They tend to be more strict in morning. A good place to do use snack credits this way is the bakery on Main ST, or the Villian's candy shop is HS.

 Does anyone know if you can use a snack credit for the beignets at POFQ?

Baked Potato and Corn on the Cob in Liberty Square are good snack credits to use for a lunch........:thumbsup2

I know in Sunshine Seasons you can get a cup of Mac N Cheese for a snack credit.

We always use our refillable mug and "snack" credit in the food court on our way to the bus stop for breakfast - usually i get a banana and a muffin (or something along those lines) that my DD(4) and I can split! This way we can snack on the bus and be ready to start our day by the time we get to the park!

I'm going to second the baked potato in liberty square. They're large and nearly a full meal.

well....if your at Epcot during the food and wine fest all of the special food offerings are a snack credit....you can easily make MANY meals out of it :)

I agree with the others, we generally use the snack credit for a light breakfast, and then use our CS credit for lunch and a TS credit for dinner.
You can always bring things to have in the room for breakfast too. I find the offerings for "snack" credits to not substitute for lunch.
Good Luck.

This... absolutely. Though if you're not going to F+W then the other options that have been mentioned here are great.

We always end up taking a lot of snacks home.

This is a good point. We've done this a number of times, especially if we are out late. In the mornings, the line for getting something like a muffin can be really long - read: time consuming. However, late at night, you can pick up a late night nibble - and something like a muffin or second cookie for breakfast. Getting somethign th night before cna be a real timesaver!

(There's no rule that says you can't have a cookie/cake for breakfast on vacation!) The difference between chocolate cake, waffle with syrup, and a muffin is little more than their names, IMO.

Very common for us is to SHARE. We get one order of eggs/full breakfast, some fruit, maybe a pastry - and share everything. We do the same thing at lunch.

The fried rice at AK's Yak and Yeti CS is a snack credit...it is a full carton and delicious! Definitely enough to share and satisfy!

I "third" the baked potato in Liberty Square at the MK!

A lot of the resorts have a soup of the day for a snack credit, which comes with some packs of crackers. My all time favorite was the vegetarian chili at Captain Cook's at the Polynesian. It was most definitely a full meal!

The eggrolls at the MK and AK are great, but only one for a snack credit. Delicious, but not truly a "filler" meal, even to get you by...

The best snack credit I used on our trip in December was a ham and cheese croissant from the bakery in France. Per the advice here, I asked for it heated.

It was a complete sandwich and seriously delicious.
