My youngest daughter got her braces off this morning - after 2.5 years. When she got home I was stunned. It seemed like she suddenly grew up in a matter of hours.

She would never ever smile like that with her braces on - and if she was laughing - ALWAYS had a hand in front of her mouth.

Here is her first official no braces photo.

Beautiful smile, indeed! :thumbsup2

My oldest son will get his braces off later this year. Little does he know it but that puts him looking just a little more like me........;)

Beautiful picture!!

I was so excited when it was time for DD to get her braces off last year, I didn't realize just how much I missed seeing her teeth until we were given the date that she was going to be able to have her braces taken off, it was like waiting for Christmas!!:)

thanks everyone. she is one sore girl this evening - but it didn't stop her from going to dance class. Hubster is picking her up now - and taking her to bahama bucks - her favorite - eating is pretty hard right now. Hopefully she won't be hurting for long.

OH - she is not sore from the brace being taken off (silly me - totally forgot to mention this). She has/had two "peg teeth" on either side of her top front teeth. when the braces came off the teeth on either side of the "peg teeth" wouldn't have the support they needed - so today she also had those two teeth ground down :scared: and temporary crowns put on.

We have about a year of braces left for Kevin (DS-13) and I've nearly forgotten what he looked like without them. He changes the band colors regularly, right now they are green & yellow alternating (ugh).

Your daughter looks lovely...what a beautiful smile!

Finally, she smiles!

Congrats to Emily!

Mine is getting the spacers in now and will have the braces soon....

she looks as cute as ever...see the elastic "necklace" is still there, has it lasted as long as the braces did:lmao:?

aawww those spacers are NOT fun. Lots of soft foods for her for a few days. Give E a hug for me.

:lmao: I had to go back and look at the photo again. Her "choker" has become just a part of her we never notice it anymore. I really have no idea how long they last. She uses her practice dance tights to make them (after she has totally worn them out first). She just cuts straight across a leg, takes the band and puts it on. :confused3

I don't really "get it" either, but that's my Emmie.
