Best sit down restaurant at Epcot World Showcase?

Lots of choices, and while most menus have been a bit Americanized, there are still some wonderful places to dine. Since many have given you the standard go-to places, I'll suggest a few off the beaten path:
Restaurant Marrakesh - Morocco Pavilion: Generally quiet, good service, and lovely interior
Tokyo Dining - Japan Pavilion: Good sushi, flavorful bento boxes, and some great views if you get a window seat
Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar - Italy Pavilion: Excellent wine list, small plates, intimate atmosphere

As others have intoned, the cost of food at Disney can be a shock, but it's part of the price for the Disney experience. Have fun!

I've been 3 times since 2012 and Via Napoli is my, and my kids', MUST DO. The prosciutto and melon is my favorite, but the pizzas have all been delicious. We're in a "good" pizza wasteland, though!

Next year we're going to VN at some point and trying Biergarten for lunch. DH loves German influenced food, so I promised to tolerate it (bad case of food poisoning the last time I had German food).

Blue Zoo, over at the S/D, is fantastic and only a short walk or boat ride away. You could also consider the sit-downs at BC/YC.

Another vote for Via Napoli. Can't beat their pizza. Salads, apps and sangria are great as well!

Via Napoli----their pizza is the best!
LeCellier-----Filet never disappoints and worth the 2 TS credits IMO. Lovely dinner atmosphere.

I agree with a PP that the lasagne at Tutto Italia is wonderful! I also like Chefs de France for lunch or dinner. Sunshine Seasons is great and a must do for us but since you haven't been in 40 yrs, I think you should do a TS meal!

I love Chefs de France! It's got great atmosphere, delicious food and good service.

The best sit down restaurant in my opinion in Epcot World Showcase is Chefs De France because the atmosphere is very elegant and has amazing food. The only downside of the restaurant is that the staff is not kid friendly.

It just depends on what you want to spend and what you want out of it. While I agree that Sunshine Seasons is a great place to eat, it is very chaotic and very busy. It is similar to a cafeteria. We had to have 2 get the food and the other 2 save our table. It's a place that once you see a table, you need to grab it. Via Napoli is fantastic! We loved their pizza. The restaurant is big and can get loud. So if you are wanting a nice place to sit and have a quiet meal, this might not be it. Although, again, the pizza is amazing. La Cantina de San Angel, in Mexico, is okay. We wouldn't do it again. It was air conditioned inside and very hot outside. Teppan Edo was okay. The food was good. The chef cooking, on the grill in front of you, is nice entertainment. The couple that we sat with were fun to talk to. My daughter, loves fried rice, did not care for their beef rice tasted weird. So did my husband. My son and I both thought it was okay. Their desserts were not so great in my opinion. My brother did Le Cellier when he was there in February. He raved about it. It is on our list for our next trip. It is expensive. I love love love Raglan Road at Downtown Disney. My whole family absolutely loved it. Our favorite meal on our trip. So many good places to eat at Disney it's hard to narrow down to just Epcot.

Chefs de France
Tutto Italia (is that the name?)
Rose and Crown
Are some we've enjoyed

Personally, I am from Germany, I did not enjoy the food they sold there for authentic German food. The restaurant setting and decor, itself is quite a close to Bavarian restaurants and Biergartens

Favorite: San Angel Inn---the atmosphere here is amazing.
Least Favorite: Marakkesh---the food was overrated for the price, and the "alleged" belly dancers are not always there, there isn't much else to see. DH & I had an awful experience there on our honeymoon, and now make jokes about going there---but I am sure others have had lovely meals there.

In the end, a lot of these places can be good or bad based on the food/the CMs/the service.

Monsieur Paul is amazing (but expensive)

On the not as expensive side I really like Tutto Italia.

Simply going by food quality and ignoring everything else, Monsieur Paul is the best. Whether the quality is worth the upcharge is a question only you can answer, though.

We love sit down lunches! Not sure Monsieur Paul is open for lunch, but maybe it has changed. If you enjoy atmosphere San Angel Inn (Mexico) or Tutto Italia (Italy) are full of charm. If looking for a authentic village feel, The Rose and Crown Pub (inside). City feel, Les Chefs de France. Quiet, relaxed feel, try Tokyo Dining, ask for a window seat, or close, overlooking the lagoon. Very attentive wait staff. Enjoy!

I used to work in the Canada pavillion and on my days off Id be finding excuses to go eat at Biergarten so tasty! My roommates (on the same international program) worked at San Angel, Rose n Crown, Les Chef Des France , Teppan edo and Via Napoli so I got to try those especially in left overs! My favourite of those were Via napoli or Rose n Crown. I like the Rose n Crown as it reminds me of meals with my British Grandma. Via Napoli I liked because alas being in m early 20s the guys were pretty flirty and good looking LOL food was good too especially the green lasagna :) But I will have to vote for Rose n Crown or Biergarten
