I love O'Hana and yes as others have said there is nothing like that at DL. Blue Bayou for lunch (cheaper and the only time they have the Monte Cristo) is wonderful. Very similar in feel and lighting (or lack thereof lol) to San Angel at Epcot.
I think Disneyland's counter service is better than WDW's. Many places serve your food on real plates and its feels more like a full serve. They call them buffeterias and I can't think of a single cs place in WDW that is quite like these (Plaza Inn, French Market, Rancho are all buffeterias).
My favorites are Plaza Inn (this restaurant was decorated by Walt's wife Lillian, its a character meal at breakfast but cs at lunch and dinner), Rancho de Zocala and Pizza Port (which is not like Pizza planet in DHS). All of those places have huge portions that can be very easily shared. The prices at DL are higher for cs but I think the quality and selection is better.
But for ts, DLR as a whole is not like WDW. Although Goofy's Kitchen at the DLH is my favorite character meal in either WDW or DL and I have done them all except Garden Grill. Love Goofy's! But for a meal that is very unique to DL and a very nice splurge, go with lunch at the Blue Bayou.
