Hello to all of you in this happy section of the DisBoards!

I am invited to my nephews fiance's shower and I am stumped for a gift. She has NO REGISTRY and is a quiet person who I dont know very well. I checked The Knot and other typical sites and there are some great ideas out there but I would really like to give something great, unique and cherished. I know they need money for the wedding so I was thinking of doing an origami wedding dress out of money but I keep thinking that might be a little tacky and I am getting confused. Can any of you suggest a great gift that you have on your registry, are hoping to get or have received? I am looking to spend between 50-75 for this shower gift and we are giving them money as a wedding gift at the actual wedding. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

A gift I really enjoyed was a return address stamp that I could customize. I got this at our engagement party not my shower but it is the only gift we received from friends that we actually use often. It is a stamp from papersource where you buy the kit and it has a coupon inside to redeem so the receiver can customize the stamp with their information and preferred design. It has been very useful as we write thank you notes after all the events and now we don't have to hand write out our return address.

I had a friend with no registry. I had her wedding invitation very nicely framed into a mirror (cost about $150), and since I knew they were saving for a house, I bought a photo frame (cost about $20) that had multiple windows, since she was a friend I went and printed a bunch of photos of her and her fiance and put them in the frame, and I left one frame empty and put a check in there ($50). Wow that was a terrible run on sentence.

My go to gift for non-registry showers (bridal or baby) is a voucher from a photo processing place/pre-paid photobook. Places like Photobox, Photobook or Shutterfly.
I 'fancy them up' in a pretty box so they still have something to unwrap

Just wanted to chime in here an say the Personalized Stamp sounds like a great idea. Heck, we've been married for almost 8 years and I might just have to get one for myself. This is something the couple with use for years and years. Not only for their thank you cards but for all their mail through the years. We do not mail as much as we used to but it would have been great to use this past weekend when we were paying some bills and had to write our return address in. They will think of you when ever they use it.

One of my faves (while not exactly "unique or cherished" as in crafty but darn useful!) was a a gift card for the website MissNowMrs.com. It helps you change your name after you are married and was invaluable to me since I didn't even know where to start after the wedding!

My only caution with this is to be sure that the bride to be actually intends to change her name
