Best Show on TV - Poll

What do you consider the best show on television? I'm going to try to make a legitimate poll but obviously some choices will probably get left off. Disclaimer: I'm not putting any comedies in the list because there is just no way they can be considered "the best show."

I vote Glee, but I know it's one of those Love-It-Or-Hate-It shows.

I also like Friday Night Lights a lot, but that could be biased because I live in Houston.

Friday Night Lights is by far the best show on TV right now. It's a shame not more people watch it... the 5th and final season will start sometime in late spring.

And I'm from MA and still think it's awesome, DisneyCowgirl!

Other than CSI:, I don't watch any of those shows so I voted for the CSI: shows.

Of those, I vote for CSI (Las Vegas). The only other one on your list that I watch is Glee.

While not a sitcom, I'd say Glee is about 1/2 comedy, 1/4 musical, and 1/4 drama. The Big Bang Theory is as good, so it should have made the list if Glee did. Although I'd have still voted for CSI of those on the list.

I too love FNL. I didn't put it because I don't think it has the viewer base required to be considered the best show.

The only show that I try not to miss that is currently airing is Community on NBC. I just love it. I don't know why a comedy can't be the "best show"? Good comedy is just as hard to pull off as good drama. I also really like Parks and Recreation. I really hope NBC brings it back after the holidays. I think it is supposed to be a mid-season replacement show.

My DH and I are also big Mad Men fans --- I wish the seasons were more than 12 or 13 episodes each.

The last few episodes of Glee have gotten better! I was getting disappointed in the early going of this season.

I don't understand why a comedy isn't "allowed" to be on the list? Some of the best shows ever in the history of TV have been comedies.

I think Big Bang Theory is one of the best written and acted shows on TV right now. The Dialogue on there is much better than on most of the drama's on the list.

I also don't see Psych on the list and I think that is also a very well written show. And where is Bones?

there are only 4 shows a week that I watch and you missed all but House-which has gone downhill the last 2 years.


I vote Big Bang Theory or Psych right now.

I agree!! I know the poll belongs to the OP, so he/she makes the rules, but I think it's ludicrous to think that a comedy couldn't be considered the "best show"!!
I'll admit that there was a time when sitcoms couldn't even come CLOSE to competing with the dramas of their time. But I think that's changed. There are just far too many really really great comedy shows on right now that simply cannot be overlooked.
