Best shoes for walking the parks?!

The absolute best shoes you can wear for walking a park like disney would be something like these. I got a pair reccomended from a guy I know who is into hiking.

You can't get as much sun on your feet, if you're trying to get a tan, but as far as comfort goes, these are great.

Unfortunatley, I'm out for the sun, so I wear a pair of crocs sandals.

Hi-

I was just about to post the exact same question, when I saw this post.

:)

I am having anxiety over what shoes to wear, but at the same time not look silly.

I am going to Disney in 1 week, and was planning on wearing capris some of the time. I was wondering if socks and tennis shoes look silly with capri pants??

Does anyone have any photos of wearing capris and socks and tennis shoes?

I normally wear capris with sandles but since I will be walking all day at the parks for a week straight, I thought I would need tennis shoes. And again, to make it more comfortable and to avoid blisters, I thought I should wear socks with my tennis shoes. I will be there early Feb, so I don't think socks will be too hot to wear? But silly looking with capris? Someone help me, please ;)
Thanks,

Shellydm :)

Shellydm:

I think you need to look at this realistically. Who cares if you look silly? You're more concerned with looking silly than begin comfortable? You'd rather have blisters and worry about what others are thinking? Come on, it's Disney -- everyone looks silly -- mouse ears, goofy ears, sparkles in their hair, fanny packs -- you name it, they got it. Don't worry about how you look just go and enjoy yourself!

FWIW, I don't think capris and socks/sneakers look funny at all.

As a family we ALL wore Keen sandals...they were the best thing ever! Cool & comfy..plus they dried quickly after riding water rides! Heres a pic of our "Disney Feet"...granted in this pic my DD & I are wearing our Minnie flip flops...hee hee! But take a look at the boys feet! Wonderful! ::yes::

I'd bring more than one option - that way, you can figure out what works best for you. I didn't like Crocs as well as I thought I would - I alternated between them, sneakers, and flip flops.

what kind of Keen sandals would you suggest? I looked at the Keen website and there are SO many different kinds to choose from.
Thank you

I bought Born sandals last year for a trip to Washington D.C. I was amazed at how comfortable the sandals were. I'll never wear anything else!

Shelly: Well, I am going in two days :cheer2: and I will be wearing my Sketchers d'lites with capris every day. I bought thin socks to wear with them, the kind that barely show. I am having a foot problem, and it is important that I wear something that I can walk in. As much as I would love to wear sandals or flip flops - I can't. So, if they look "silly" - oh well.........

I say just wear whatever you are comfortable with and don't worry about it!

I always wear socks w/tennis shoes with capris when at WDW and sometimes even at home.

I have 3 different kinds: Venice, Newport, and Bali.
The Venice ones run wider, especially in the toe area.
The Newports are more narrow, and that's what I've worn to Disney and San Fran.
The Bali ones are slip ons, but very comfy. I'm bringing them along on my trip in March.

For me, as long as I'm comfortable and my feet won't hurt, anything will do.

Have a safe trip.:)

personally i have sneakers that are made for people who do a lot of standing so i find those to work out the best.

After ordering about a dozen pair of shoes (most were mentioned here, all free shipping and returns!), I finally broke down and ordered Birkenstocks. I think it will be exactly what I need. Ugly (in my opinion) and pricey, but saving my feet will be worth it. Last year I came back with horrible shin splints that stayed for months. I had a pair a few years back and they were the best shoes I ever wore. I ordered a few pairs and I'll see what I like best. Now to pack up all the others (may keep the crocs though for around the house, less walking and pools at WDW).
Now onto finding the perfect bag!
I am driving my husband nuts!

I wear Keens all year round, so that is what I wear to Disney. I have a pair of mary jane style keens and they look cute with jeans as well as shorts. I did wear socks with them at Disney. Every single part of my body was sweaty in the heat of September and I needed the socks and didn't care if I looked dorky. I usually wear peds with them in shorts.

I wear an orthotic in my shoe (I am only in my 30s, not 70s ;) ) so I can't do the Keen sandals, but I do buy them for my kids! They wear them ALL summer and still look like new!. They are water proof, have toe protection (versus an open toe sandal, and the kids can't run out of them!
IMO Keens are worth every penny.

DS and I in our Keens!
