Best shoes for Disney World rain?

I'm going to be the weird one here. I always wear tennis shoes to the parks not just any cheap pairs but good ones that provide a lot of support. You walk SO MUCH that support is key. I always take two pairs of good broken in tennis shoes. I'm generally not out running and splashing in puddles so my shoes even on rainy days don't get that wet.

We generally go back to the room at some point anyways during the day. When we do and my shoes are wet I'll take them off and put them upside down on top of a vent to help them dry and I put on my other pair. I always bring extra socks. By doing this my first pair of shoes get dry and I have dry feet the rest of the day.
Same here. I just always wear tennis shoes. I had my brooks ones on when we got soaked at animal kingdom during a storm. We always travel with a small fan so I just lined the shoes up by the fan. Mine were dry by the next morning.

One of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn - Salomon XA Pro 3D V8 Trail running shoes - they make a goretex version that has the GTX added to the label. I have a pair specifically for rainy seasons at Disney.

I always bring two pairs of broken in sneakers to wear. Its the only way I don't get blisters. If it rains, I will stuff newspaper in the sneaker and set it by the AC to dry it out, but I have the second pair to wear if its not dry by morning. I've tried Crocs but got a huge blister - the humidity and the rubbing did not help.

I love Vessi's and have made them one of my everyday shoes. They are super comfy and 100% waterproof. I've worn them on a couple trips now and they are comfy to walk all day in.
YES!!! I have two different styles of Vessi's, the Weekend and one they don't sell anymore (it didn't have laces, I guess was less popular). I've worn my pair without laces in to the ground so just wear them at home now, but I've worn the Weekend pair, which are all white, to the parks on several different trips since december. Super comfy and pretty much require no break in period, and can be thrown in the wash to clean and air dry. Socks stay dry, feet don't hurt, win/win. I actually have them waiting to go in to the wash as we speak after a trip to WDW three weeks ago, and a trip to Savannah this past weekend where I hiked around a huge cemetary and a fort with trails in these shoes. I have some Merrels too that are great for downpours, but they require much more breaking in, and aren't as great as far as all day comfort like the Vessi's.

edit to add: I mentioned they are all white to say that they are still white even after all the trips with walking and rain. Even after hiking through sand and on trails in Savannah/Tybee island they're still looking good (little spray and wash before their wash and they're good to go).

I’ve heard about the newspaper trick before. I will need to remember to bring some newspaper on our trip in a couple of weeks. Thanks for the reminder!

Whatever you decide on make sure you have at least two pairs of shoes. That way one can be drying out while you wear the other pair. I don't wear closed toed shoes, they hurt my big toes. I will wear a pair of sketchers go walk canvas slip ons in the winter. I have a couple pairs of Clarks Flip Flops, a couple of pairs of Earth brand sandals and a pair of Sketchers sandals I switch out. I usually take at least 3 pairs with me and try to switch out each day even if they don't get wet.

I think I may have to do this too! My feet, knees and back do not like change and do well in tennis sneakers....

I am afraid to NOT wear my Brooks....so I guess I'll just bring an extra pair or two and lots of socks! That is easier than tryiny to find a new shoe without messing up my feet!

Teva waterproof shoes, very comfortable to wear all day in parks. Feet don't overheat or sweat. Also wear Teva hiking saddle to change it up.

Anyone try the Native Disney shoes? They look super cute.

My favorite for any season, rain or shine, is Teva Mush flip flops. My lower back is about shot but I can walk in these all day long with no pain.

I have 3 pet peeves related to this:

1 ) I hate when my shoes get wet.
2 ) I hate when my socks get wet when my shoes get wet.
3 ) I hate trying to dry out my wet socks and shoes back at the hotel.

As a result; whenever I go to Disneyworld, I just carry a pair of sandals in my backpack. Once it starts raining ( or before I get onto a ride where you get wet ); I put on my sandals, put my shoes into a plastic bag and stick them into my backpack until it stops raining.

Have you tried carrying some Body Glide? I'm a hiking-sandal wearer myself, but I haven't had a single Disney blister since I started rubbing Body Glide on my feet 20 years ago. (Unlike some of the other anti-chafing preparations, Body Glide is water-resistant, so it still works with wet shoes, though it's best to carry it with you and re-apply every few hours when you feel a hot spot building up.)
