I have noticed that I can now ask for a preferred location within Pop Century. My 1st preference would be near transportation I guess but can anyone else share views on other options?

It has all the decades plus near elevator, lake view, all floor options

thanks

good question. i just booked a preferred this morning and was told it was near the buses. Would like to hear what people have to say.

i like to be as close as possible to the main building - for drink refills, food and the buses are right on the other side (you walk through the main building to get to where the buses are).

i can't remember the building we ask for.
i'll look at the map and let you know.

ok
here's the map:
http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/pop.htm

we never get a preferred room (since it costs us more).
so we always ask for the 70's (we don't like to be near a pool - too noisy for us)

one time they tried to give us the 80's and 90's - i said no way.
so they changed the rooms to the 70's.
i just like that location.

if you want to be near a pool and you're entitled to ask for preferred, i would go for the 60's.
If you don't want a pool, i'd ask for the 70's (the 70's has a preferred section as well as a standard section).

This map shows the preferred sections in red

I've stayed in the 50's 'Tramp' block (3101-3472) on the lake-facing side away from the pool. Only a few minutes away from the food court and the buses and pool are close by, but not too noisy. We had a nice view across Hourglass Lake and watched what was the construction of the 'Classic Years' - now AOA. Requested a similar room in the 50's for our visit 5 years later only to find the trees had grown so much we could barely see the lake

Apart from the 80's and some of the 90's the distances to food court and buses probably don't vary by much - Pop is not that big a resort.

We stayed in the 50's 'Tramp' building too, and thought it was a fab location. This was in April 2010.

If you look at the map disneyholic family posted a link to - building 3101-3472, our room was on the ground floor, roughly where Tramp's ears are on the map! We had requested a higher floor, but I guess they didn't have any.

We were close to the pool for the kids, but far enough away for no noise (the other buildings blocked this too). Only a short walk to the food and buses. An added benefit was being able to see some of Illuminations (Epcot fireworks) from our room window!

I'd happily stay in that location again, loved it.
