We just booked our vacation with free dining. We changed from two rooms a PO-FQ to a one bedroom at the Boadwalk Villas. We really wanted the Beach Club Villas (Stormalong Bay) , but they did not have a one bedroom villa available at the BCV. My wife wanted the location , so the Boardwalk it is. We did not make a room request as we did not know that much about the restort, other than it is a one bedroom and it is close to Epcot and MGM (oops, Disney Hollywood Studios). Can any one who has stayed there previously make a suggestion about a room request? Thanks, in advance, for your help.

We are DVC owners and Boardwalk is our home resort. You will have to find out what category your room is in, Standard view, preferred view, or boardwalk view. The standard views are of the front side of Boardwalk (trees, parking lot, etc.), preferred view would be of the pools, both quiet or slide pool, finally Boardwalk ( you guessed it boardwalk view). Some people do not like how long the corridors are from the elevators. So you could request a room closer to the elevators, but personally it doesnt bother us to walk to our room. Also, at the other end of the hallways are stairs. You will really enjoy your stay here. We have stayed in many different rooms, but we do request boardwalk view. Enjoy!

When you book BWV through CRO, you will likely get a water view, whether your request it or not, since so many DVC owners save points by selecting standard view. In our experience, you'll never get a Boardwalk view, as those go to the DVC owners who spend the points for a preferred view.

We always book through CRO. We usually request a water view and leave it at that. We've usually gotten a view of the quiet pool and the canal, which is very pretty. We used to sometimes also get a view of the Clown Pool, which we like. But, lately those also seem to be going to DVC owners who spend the necessary points for a preferred view.

Unlike BCV, which I understand has some less than wonderful views, our water views have always been very nice. We've never had a standard view so can't speak to what those are like.

hey would ask for a BW view anyway - they aren't surpose to go to paying guest = but they do. (disney claims that those were exchanges to other places and they have the right to use them)

now didn't like the BW view - felt I was on display the entire time. but some people like it.

you realize that 2 rooms at PO-FQ gives you 4 beds.
a 1-bedroom has a king bed in the master and queen sleeper sofa in the livingroom - that is it. but it does have the whirlpool tub in the room. love those things.

here is more information on it

Thanks for all the helpful info. My wife wanted to stay close to Epcot and MGM. We have always wanted to try a one bedroom and it looks like we will get our wish.

loooooooove the BWVs also:cloud9:
fyi tho, preferred BW view rooms cannot be booked on cash (it is blocked in the booking system ~ yes, i tried:) ), only on points.
most standard views are booked by DVC members (lower points), & preferred view pool/garden is the most available (is also the view catagory with the most rooms).
there is so much to do at the BW itself: surry bikes, street performers, carny games, dining (bakery is delicious:lovestruc ), drinks & ppl watching at BRG, 5 minute walk to EPCOT, longer walk or ferry to DHS, & watching illuminations (best non-EPCOT viewing on bridge somewhat across from the gazebo). the lobby is stunning, rooms beautiful (as PP said, some feel the hallways are long, but we never had a prob), great clown slide in main pool plus a quiet pool (& another on the Inn side).........BWVs are our absolute favorite resort in all of WDW (just 8 days to go :woohoo: )

IMHO, BWV has very few poor views.

The Boardwalk view is absolutely spectacular, and the standard views, with very nice grassy areas, are better than many of the views at other deluxe resorts. (Don't get me started about the premium view we had at WL once. :confused3 )

I think you would be very happy to suggest a view over the Village Green. This view gives you:

1) a side view of the boardwalk
2) a front view of a nice garden and bwi
3) close to the elevators
4) easier view to get than Boardwalk view

My sister had a studio over the village green and her balcony was HUGE.

You will love staying in a 1 bdrm at BWV!! :lovestruc :lovestruc
