Best rooms at AKL??

We are staying at the AKL in May and I was wondering which rooms are the best for the view. We know we have a Deluxe room savannah view with bunk beds, but is there a section or floor that we should request?

If you have a deluxe room and are not concierge, then it will definately be on the 5th floor.

As a family of five, we're locked into 5th floor deluxe rooms (unless we would want to pay for two rooms). My only complaint about the fifth floor rooms is that they tend to be too high. Instead of having a view across the whole savanah, you can see about halfway across and then the other side is blocked by the treetops. It varies, of course, of how close your room is to the trees but unfortunately, you can't pick your room. If you're a family of four, I'd recommend going with a lower floor. The extra room the deluxes give you is only the width of the balconey (the fifth floor rooms extend the width of a balconey beyound the lower floors.

Are you staying concierge? If you are not staying Concierge then you will be on the fifth floor. The savanna view rooms overlook one of the three savannas. We have stayed in fifth floor savanna view rooms twice and have great views of the Arusha Savanna. We just returned, last night, from our most recent stay at the AKL. We were in a third floor room overlooking the Uzima Savanna and it was great. Completely different animals, except the giraffe, but still amazing.

So what is "best" this is really a matter of personal opinion. I would suggest being on the Zebra Savanna and whether or not you want a smoking or non-smoking room and take it from there.
