We are about to make plans for a trip to BWV for next Nov. We have stayed only once in a standard room (non preferred view).
The room was 4121. We did not a have a great view but were able to see the Epcot fireworks at night.
Need suggestions to that I can request a good room or have a list available upon check-in. We will be getting a 1 bedroom villa.
Thanks guys............

Are you getting standard view again? We were in 3121 last year (one floor below you) and I thought the view of the fountain and pond was pretty. That darn tree blocked the view of some of the fireworks! Standard views are from the valet entrance down to where you were and around the corner across from the tennis courts. The basic choices are close to the elevator, which would be facing the entrance, midway down the hall would face the driveway or farther away where you were. The rooms facing the tennis courts might have a partial view of MGM, but they are the farthest from the elevator.

If you're able to book a standard view, it's doubtful that you'll get anywhere close to an actual room specified. Hookairs;) ;) ......

The adjacent room 4123 (as well as 3123 and 2123), is an extra-large dedicated 1-bedroom at the corner of the building. It features an extra-large balcony with an unobstructed view of the Illuminations fireworks (that tree doesn't extend that far!).

wHEN I MAKE THE RESSIE ARE THESE ROOMS, 4123 ETC. ARE THEY REFERRED TO AS STANDARD VIEW OR PREFERRED?

Thanks for the info. I have put the rooms into my BWV file. My only problem is taht they rarely give you a specific room even if you request it 11 months ahead of time.

That may be true at peak periods, but we have had the same room three years in a row at OKW. The first time I mentioned how nice the room the prior year was while making the next year's reservation and we got the same room the next year too. Ditto for the year after. I mentioned this to our friends who own at BWV and they included the same comment to the CM taking their ressie and got the same room again this year as the prior year too. Of course all visits were in the October/November period when occupancy is less than 100% on most nights.

An exterior picture of the BWV standard-view rooms can be found at http://198.65.141.39/. Click on 'Resorts' and scroll down to 'Disney's Boardwalk Resort' then select the upper-right picture. The light-colored "corner" section is where 2123, 3123 & 4123 are. Note the extra-large balconies.

Peter W,

Thanks for the pictures. They are so nice!!!

I put these room # in my excel spreadsheet and I will call next week to put it into my room request for next Oct. They look so beautiful.:p

We have had the same area the last four times. Last summer it was about 5339 maybe? When you walk out the back door of BWV heading for the boat dock we were on the left at the very top! We had a preferred view. We would put our three kids to bed and drink wine on the balcony. We could watch people and over the Yacht and Beach club we could see the MK fireworks!!! We love that area! Even on a loud night, you can't hear through the walls. Our kids were never bothered by the night activities!

:bounce:

With the 2123, 3123 & 4123 rooms. Are they assigned one bedrooms or can they be two bedrooms?

Thanks for all the great info guys...I appreciate it. We plan to go next Nov. so, I'll request one of those 3 rooms and hope to get on of them!!!
Has anyone gone during the NJ teacher convention. Wondering how crowded it is. I hear this year it was kinda crowded since there was a Soap show in MGM and wine tasting in Epcot. We went 9/25/01 and the lines were nothing. I got spoiled to going during low periods when my kids were not in school.

2123, 3123 & 4123 are dedicated 1-bedroom units (meaning there is NO adjacent studio unit that can be added to form a 2-bedroom unit). 2123 is a smoking room (as I believe the entire 2nd floor is).

Best Room at BWV?

The room I'm lucky enough to be staying in!

We arrive one month from today :) .

I'm at BWV now, it's pouring buckets outside, so we're staying in tonight. :(

FYI - those special corner rooms (2123, 3123, 4123) are in the group of standard corner rooms currently getting the outside renovation. From that room to the end of the hall. The 1st floor shortcut entrance there is also closed.

Just booked today! Requested any of those 3 rooms! We are so excited! Keeping our fingers crossed.

Another FYI: At the BWV annual meeting, the BWV GM said that the interior refurbishment and the outside rehab was scheduled to complete in Spetmeber 2003. He personally was hoping it would be done in August, though.

Returned home tonight. :(

We were in room 4103, a standard 1 bedroom (dedicated). It was across from the bus stop. Had a great view of Illuminations, you could see the fireworks & even hear the music. One night, I think Tuesday, there were some fireworks around 11:30pm, it must have been a private party. I had requested "fireworks view" and when we checked in they had us on the first floor. I asked if any higher floors were available and the cm found us this room on the 4th floor, but she said it probably would not be a good view. It turned out to be great! :)
