We're at US right now and DS 10 (who loves conventional coasters) wants to try out his first upside-down one. Any recommendations among Hulk, Triwizard and Rockit as the best for a first-timer? Thanks,

Rockit isnt a true upside down coaster.Hulk and Dragon Challenge are. Both are intense. My vote is for Hulk

I agree with Hulk to start off on. Dragon Challenge is an inverted coaster so flipping for the first time while feet dangle might be a little much.

Thanks! Skipped Hulk and Dragon but did Rockit twice. DS loved it!

DD10 just tried her first "upside down" coaster at Universal during our visit a couple weeks ago. The Dragon Challenge was the first, and she loved it. She also did the Hulk and Rip Ride Rocket. One nice quality of the Dragon Challenge is that it is pretty smooth as compared to the Rocket. That made a bigger difference than the inversions.

I think Dragon Challenge is the tamest, smoothest and funnest one.Not as good as it used to be since they don't duel anymore but I've always thought the B&M inverted coasters are some of the best coaster designs out there.Hulk is still good but it's gotten rougher over the years and Rockit is fine but not a favorite, like I'll ride it once and I'm good.At least for me the two major coasters in Orlando I can ride all day,no problem would be Dragon Challenge and Kraken at Sea World.Manta is fun but I don't like how your legs and feet get restrained,if the ride got stuck for a while with me in that position I might just have a major freak out,so I'll ride it once and hope it doesn't happen.Over at Busch Gardens I pretty much love every one of their coasters,Sheikra is sort of a one trick pony but it's a great trick,I could ride it all day.Montu is like my favorite coaster all time, the only other one that could challenge it would be Millenium Force at Cedar Point.Kumba gives you some pretty good head banging but this coaster is fast and it always amazes me how fast the end of the ride is,also best sounding coaster anywhere,it howls. It looks like they're giving up on their wooden coaster Gwazi as I hear rumors of it getting closed and it was on my last visit early this month, but I like that ride.Cheetah Hunt is long and fun,not too intense and a great family ride.Even their wild mouse coaster Sand Serpent I ride like twice on every visit, super fun ride.I've ridden that particular coaster with three names,Wild Maus when it was in Busch Gardens in Williamsburg,Cheetah Chase when it got moved to Tampa and currently Sand Serpent when they changed it's name which was too similar to Cheetah Hunt.

Hulk was the first big coaster I ever went on.....and that was me hooked.

I would have chosen Duelling Dragons to the OP, but at Metro pointed out dangling feet might be a bit much for a first timer. I never thought about that.

Glad he got to ride RRR.......I love that one too :thumbsup2
