I'm a major foodie and I don't mind spending money for dinner. I'll be going to US/IOA for 4 nights with my parents and 2 kids (who have eaten in lots of upscale restaurants) in Aug. What are the best places to eat in terms of quality? I know we want to hit The Palm and Emeril's, but what else?
TIA!

As far as the parks go...you should try Mythos at IOA and Lombard's at the Studios...both are table service and have excellent service & food.

Excellent, I will try those for lunches as we like to take a long, leisurely lunch instead of a pool break on hot days. Thanks!

Finnegan's is actually the best table service restaurant at the Studios but it's more of an Irish pub atmosphere and I wasn't sure if you were looking for that environment.

BICE Restorante, located at PBH, is suppose to be an up-scale, quality restaurant. I haven't dined there, but it has a good reputation.

I've heard Tchoup Chop at the RPR is quite nice, though I have not been there.

If you don't mind counter service, Thunder Falls Terrace in JP and Blondie's in Toon Lagoon (both in IOA) are great. Boulangerie in USF is also excellent. I do have high hopes for the Three Broomsticks...

For full/table serve, NBA City is actually very good, as is Bob Marley's. They're more casual style, but I've had nothing but good experiences there.

If you have a car and don't mind a bit of a travel, I can recommend some phenomenal places that most on here haven't been to :rolleyes1

Fill me in. We will have a car and will be down at the end of this month into early June. Thanks. :)

Yes Dark, fill Obadiah Stane in. My lazy butt isn't leaving the park for 5 days, however.
Again, thanks all for the ideas. ))

Okay okay, I'll talk. But only because you're promising to buy me a butterbeer. That was part of the agreement, right? :jester: :upsidedow

Bauern Stube Orlando for incredible German food. It's a bit of a drive, but worth it. http://www.bauern-stube.com/

Charley's Steak House for tasty steak. You want to go to the one on OBT. Trust me. A little pricey, but worth it.

Also, Moonfish (use above link) is very close to UO, and has great seafood. Also a little pricey, but excellent.

Those are just a few gems to try...

I know about Charley's Steak House, great food and very pricey...

Another one that comes to mind is Texas de Brazil. One of the best meals we ever ate at offsite.:thumbsup2

YES.

Texas de Brazil is incredible! It's $40+/person, but it's quite the experience. Also, if you do dine there, drink water! Soft drinks were *not* free refills when I was there last.

I've heard that there's a Carrabba's close to Universal. Although I haven't eaten at that one, we have one here in KCMO, and it's my favorite Italian restaurant.

It's right across the street from Universal on Vineland Road.

I was actually a little dissapointed with Mythos, I'm really looking foward to trying Tchoup Chop this trip, I've heard a lot of great things about that.
