Just reserved Boardwalk Inn and have never stayed there - or at any hotel in the Epcot area. I have a 13 year old who loves Italian, seafood and standard American stuff. Any suggestions for the best places for dinner - better to go into Epcot or stay around the resort area? Any "food court" or casual places around that area for breakfast/lunch. THX

Palio's at the Swan for excellent Italian fare (right next to Boardwalk)
Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club on Boardwalk for the best sundaes in the World

In Epcot:
Biergarten in Germany for dining buffet that is great and live entertainment

Those are my favorites from the area!

If your 13 year old is even remotely interested in sports, the ESPN Club. Big River Grille is nice too. Cape May Buffet over at the Beach Club is a favorite.

For fast food, there's the take out pizza window and the hot dog place across the way. The bakery is great for getting something for the next morning. Conversely, the candy place is great in the morning for something that night.

Spoodles for breakfast or Dinner. Beaches and Cream for Lunch or Ice Cream have the teens try THe kitchen Sink.

Don't waste your time and money at Big River. Not a Disney restaurant in any way other than price.
My DS (15) and I always enjoy the Cape May Clam Bake at the Beach Club. It's at most a ten minute walk from the Boardwalk. Great selection of seafood and non-seafood dishes.
Check out all the WDW menus on allearsnet.com.......dining....menus...for the Epcot resorts of Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Swan and Dolphin.

Since you are staying in the Boardwalk I can recommend the Belle Vue room for a quick breakfast that you can take back to your room. Nice selections of muffins, bagels, assorted cold items along with coffee, etc. It is on the lobby level to the left just before the elevators.

What are you looking for? (Comments at places I've been)

Fancy:

Flying Fish is very good.
Palio.
But they are expensive

Family:

Spoodles is good

Casual (but bar-y)
ESPN and Big River

Buffets:
Cape May
Fresh (over at the Dolphin)

Just Casual:
Spoodles Pizza Window
Beaches and Cream (we weren't impressed, Ghiradelli's has better ice cream, IMHO)
Tubbies Buffetieria (also over at the S&D)
Boardwalk Bakery (as I recall they do some sandwiches)

No "food court" in the area. Bellevue Room may or may not have breakfast going - its never been serving when we've visited - seems to be a seasonal thing.

This is also about a five minute walk to Epcot's back door. You can get to Rose and Crown in about the time it takes to get to Tubbies.
