Best Restaurants for Solo Travelers.

As far as other resturaunts for a solo, I've loved Chefs de France (always asked for and gotten a window table), Sci-Fi, Rose and Crown, Coral Reef. I've also enjoyed California Grill, LTT, Spoodles, and Bomas. The only one I had a bad experience at was Teppenyaki. Being at communal table, you never know in advance who you'll be next to. .

Ditto for me. I loved Chefs de France solo and Spoodles and Rose and Crown. And I met a Disser friend one night who was there solo for dinner at Narcoosees! It was great.

Let us know how you make out with the ADRs. I tried for Coral Reef on 2 different dates in December a few weeks ago. They were already booked for dinner, so I ended up taking a lunch.

I actually changed my mind and didn't book Coral Reef. Sorry! I actually don't know where I want to eat!!!!! This should be the only problem I have in life! :rotfl:

Lots of great suggestions in this topic. I've been going solo to WDW since the mid-80's and have tried most of the table service restaurants. However, I do stay away from the ones with communal tables. I prefer my own table. Last time I was there I had dinner at The Garden Grill (is that what it's called now?) and Mickey asked someone at the next table to take our picture, so I have a really neat picture of "Me & Mickey" at The Grill, which I would have posted here, but I couldn't figure out how. Kept getting errors when previewing the message. :(

I'll be soloing at WDW again from October 13th through the 17th.

Thanks!

Nora

I've dined solo at Beaches Cream, Cape May Cafe, Crystal Palace, and Liberty Tree Tavern. The characters at LTT were especially sweet and attentive and made me feel really welcome. I'll see them again (solo) in September!

Well I have never had an issue at WDW. I'm always solo. The CMs are very nice and will take your picture. Some of the resturants posted here I've never eaten at. I'll have to rectify that situation, won't I? :)

I have been solo many times and been to Artist Point, Le Cellier, LTT for supper, Garden Grill, Chef Mickey's, Rainforest Cafe, & Tony's. I haven't had a bad solo meal yet! I take my time eating and just enjoy the food and theme of the restaurant. . .

I didn't have a good experience at the Rainforest Cafe as a solo traveler this past June. They sat me at a table for 2, but it was in the middle, next to one of the main "traffic" lanes. Looking around, it seemed that most of the tables around the edge where the large booths, with the smaller tables in the middle. The food wasn't that great either (except the potatoes, which were fantastic).

If you're solo at a TS restaurant, but not seated by windows or anything interesting, would it be rude to read a book? :guilty:

Definitely not rude! I see it all the time. But please don't do what I saw this solo do-if they give you a beautiful view, THEN please don't read a book! DH and I were at AP once, where we had a booth by the wall. Meanwhile, I looked over and saw a solo seated next to a window with a beautiful view and she read a book all thru dinner. I kept wondering-why couldn't she switch tables with us? She wasn't even appreciating the lovely view she had.

Some of my best table restaurants as a solo are 'Ohanas, Trail's End, Fulton's Crab house, Beaches n Cream, Coral Reef, and Bomas. 'Ohanas is always wonderful to me, even getting a fireworks view once. Fulton's I like simply because I like seafood! Coral Reef has such an awesome view. Bomas had some nice 2 seater tables which were very comfotable to sit at. Trail's End has such a nice casual feeling that I never feel uncomfortable. At Beaches and Cream, I always sit at the counter, which is nicely designed for a solo. :)

My most uncomfortable places were Cape May Clam Bake - I was placed at a 2-seater table that was inside a booth area right next to a large table filled with a large family. I was uncomfortable close, and the rest of the restaurant was empty (just opened). Felt uncomfotable the whole time, wished they spreaded us out, but nope! :(

Other uncomfortable place was Rose and Crown - I had an early dinner, and everyone else coming at that time was being placed on the patio. But I guess they couldn't waste a valuable outside table on a solo, so I was placed at a tiny table in a room inside. The room was completely deserted except for me, no other dinners in there! It was weird, as it seemed they clearly had no idea what to do with me. Everytime a waiter walked by, they stared at me, confused as to why I was alone in this room. Only in the last 10 minutes of my meal did they place any other people in that room. It was just me alone for all that time. Won't go back there!

Oh well! Live and learn! :teeth:

I've also enjoyed California Grill, LTT, Spoodles, and Bomas. The only one I had a bad experience at was Teppenyaki. Being at communal table, you never know in advance who you'll be next to. Unfortunately, I was next to a teenaged girl who seemed to be allergic to middle-aged, female, school teachers. Any attempts I made to converse with her were met with single syllable, sullen answers. So it was a very long dinner for me.

You and I love the same restaurants! Except I have never ried Sci Fi. I hit every one you named my last solo trip, except I went to Narcoosees in place of Coral Reef!

Well I just made my first "solo" ADR for LLT on the afternoon I'm going to MNSSHP. I took a late lunch seating and then I can casually stoll around and of course hit some of my favorite rides!!!

Just think....I can ride Splash Mountain as many times as I want without hearing "Mom; are you going on THAT again??" :lmao:
