Sorry if this has already posted but I couldn't find it in another thread. I want to take my kids to a restaurant where they will be able to watch the MK fireworks for our first night at WDW. Any suggestions on where to go? Are there any character meals that we could go to? We'll be there Labor Day weekend so I don't know what the park hours will be at that time. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Character meals? Not really. O'Hana has character breakfasts but not dinner. You can see them from the right spot in O'Hana. It is family freindly.

You can aslo see them from the California Grill. The veiw is amazing. It's the nicest restaurant with a kids meal I have been in! While it is more adult oriented there are kids there.

How old are your kids, and are they used to eating in nicer restaurants?

My girls are 5 & 7 and very well behaved. I've never had a problem taking them to a nice restaurant.

Thanks for the input... sounds like we'll be trying the California Grill!

You can see the fireworks from 'Ohana - we have done this twice. Ask for a table by the windows
..... OR.....
You can go to the character buffet at Chef Mickeys in the CR and then take the monorail over to the Poly and watch the fireworks from the beach.

OHanas! They also have a coconut rolling contest and hulla hoops! We had such a good time there. My DH surprised me with a second dinner there!

Trying to watch the fireworks from O'Hana's is a crap shoot. There are only a small number of tables up against the windows; they fill early and the parties that get them tend to hang around for hours (ergo, if the fireworks are at 8, those table are all taken by 6:15.) When the fireworks start, people not seated at the windows tend to get up and cram the open areas near the windows, often shutting out the view of the smaller kids.

Bottom line: if you want to see the show and tie it to a resort dinner, eat at O'Hana's before the fireworks, and walk down to the beach outside afterwards for the show. Better view, and the soundtrack can be heard over the outdoor speaker system. :thumbsup2
