Best Restaurant to View Wishes

Which restaurant is the best for viewing wishes? Based on food and view?

we had the chance to dine at the cali grill and watched the hallowishes fireworks from there and it was fantastic. We are planning to go back on our next trip to try and see both wishes and hallowishes.

Food and service was also excellent.

Based on food:
Narcoossee's is ....meh, just ok - I wouldn't pay those prices for so-so food.
'Ohana is good.
Cali Grill is excellent.

Definitely California Grill since it is on the 15th floor of CR. We haven't been to Narcoossee's yet, will be dining there for our May trip, so not quite sure how Wishes is from there.

Last year at Ohana's we asked for a seat to view the fireworks during dinner. We were seated next to the window directly facing the castle and it was nothing short of amazing. I even got teary eyed when the music was piped in - it felt like the entire show was playing just for us. Incredible!! And we could see everything perfectly.

We ate at Narcoossee's in December and timed the meal to be able to see the Electric Water Pageant and Holiday Wishes. It was during the cold spell, so no one was out on the veranda, but we had an excellent view of both from our table (inner row, first level). The food was absolutely delicious - the filet was tender and cooked perfectly and my lobster was wonderful. I would not hesitate to go back and would highly recommend it anyone who asked.

I would say Narcoossee's has the best food and views. At Ohana, check-in is a nightmare and the unhelpful CM's refused to grant our request for a window table (even when one was available) because of "how the system works." California Grill is noisy and loud, and the view of MK is off to the side, which slightly bothers me. Narcoossee's has some really good food, and the view of both the water parade and Wishes is gorgeous.

On our last trip we went to all 3 places and here's what we thought of them.

Cali Grill the veiw was spectacular!!!!!! There was a walk way outside you could stand on to watch if you wanted to (this was also the smoking area, a downer if you're a non smoker.) We went in Dec. it was the coldest night we were there and the wind was blowing about 100 miles an hour that high up so not a good place to be in the cold.
The food was O.K., we won't go back. I had so much red meat I wanted something different so I got the pork it was tough and overcooked. Not much flavor either. My DH steak was O.K. In our opinion not worth the 2 credits.

Ohauna We weren't there for the fireworks but the view was great. The food was really yummy well worth the 1 credit, I think I would go again even if it was 2 credits.

Narcoossee's This place was fabulous. The view was breathtaking even if you didn't have a front row seat. There is a walkway around the outside of the restaraunt that you can stand and watch, if you wish. It over looks the water, you can watch the traffic on the water. The atmosphere is really relaxing and warm. The food is excellent, again too much red meat so we both ordered the crab crusted fish (forgot what kind) and it was to die for. My DH isn't big on dinning out but he's making sure we go here again on our next trip. This is the only place he has raved about, I'm shocked by his commits on this place.

We did both California Grill and Narcooses last month for wishes and we thought that Narcooses was a lot better. The view at CG is wonderful, better than Narcooses, but CG is way too loud! They pump in the music and lower the lights just a little at CG. It was like it was no big deal, you couldn't even hear it. Unless you are prepared to go outside, it is a waste of time in my opinion.

At Narcooses they really lower the lights to where it is almost completely dark and they also pump in the music. It is a much quieter restaurant. The view is lower, but very pretty and romantic. Both restaurants have wonderful food and service. By the way, if you take the boat from MK to the
Grand Floridian, it docks right at the restaurant.

Sort of off subject.. But, if you were going to making a ressie at any of the above mentioned restaurants what time would you make it for? I have decided to do the deluxe plan for the later part of my trip and I am now trying to add some ressies..

Also.. if I have mother's day ressies at 2:30pm at le cellier.. Do you think adding another later ressie for that night would be too much?

I haven't been there for dinner, however in terms of it's view I would say it's the California Grill because you will see the whole Magic Kingdom, where as at Ohana and Narcoossee's it would just be a view of Cinderella's Castle.

No question- California Grill. The food is outstanding. You also have two choices of where to view Wishes. You can remain at your table and watch through the windows or you can go out to the balcony/bridge and watch them from there. In addition if you have a reservation that is too early to watch Wishes eith your dinner you can show them your receipt and they will let you watch them from up there as well when it is time!
