Best Restaurant? Near All Star Sports Resort

Hello all! This will be my first time trip to Disney and thanks to the advice on these boards I just booked my hotel! The Disney All Star Sports Resort, I was wondering if anyone had any tips on the place, or especially any good not terrible expensive family restaurants nearby. Thanks for all your help and I'm looking forward to a great trip!

Please get a guide book, either Unofficial Guide or Passporter there is so much info you need ASAP.

First understand that value resorts do not have sit-down restaurants, they have food courts. Most of the sitdown restaurants outside the parks (where you would need to use an entry ticket) are located at the deluxe resorts. To get from All-star sports to another resort (if you don't have a car) you must take a bus to a park or downtown Disney and then switch to another bus to the resort you want... Give yourself an hour to get between resorts on the buses.

Remember that the resort restaurants are just as popular as the park restaurants and you will need to make reservations to avoid waits of an hour or even being turned away.

Good character meals at resorts:
Cape May Buffet breakfast (BC)
Character meals at Grand Floridian

Signature dining events:
Hoop de doo Revue (Wilderness Campground)

Jiko and Boma at AKL are not far from where you are staying at all. They are both awesome restaurants and most on the boards agree. Boma is high end buffet style and Jiko is one of the top 5 sitdowns in all of Disney World.
