Best restaurant atmosphere in Disney World

Which restaurant do you believe has the best atmosphere and why?

I can't pick one....how about a few? Based on atmosphere only:

Sci-Fi @ DHS - dark drive in theater feel - excellent on a HOT day
50's Prime Time @ DHS - takes you back in time!
Coral Reef @ Epcot - fish tank is beautiful
San Angel @ Epcot - my favorite *atmosphere* in the World.
T-Rex @ DTD - Really great atmosphere if you enjoy very BIG and LOUD Dino's.

Definitely San Angel! The Mexico pavillion is so beautiful, and eating in the middle of it all is wonderful.

Thanks! What is the T-Rex in DTD? Is it new? I have never heard of it? It sounds fun. What kind of food, prices, etc.?

Are you familiar with the Rainforest Cafe? T-Rex is owned by the same company (Landry's). It is new (I believe it opened last year maybe?). We have eaten there twice because DS6 is OBSESSED with Dinosaurs. And to be honest, his obsession is the only reason we return. The food is average at best..not terrible, but not great and it is waayyyy over priced. The portions are huge (if it makes you feel any better). You can see the menu at allearsnet.com as well as some pictures. The theming is really amazing, they have a great store where you can buy anything and everything dino related as well as a build-your-own stuffed Dino (like build-a bear). They also have a fun little area outside for the kids where they can dig in the sand for dino bones (like the boneyard in Ak).

I love the atmosphere at Coral Reef! It's certainly not romantic or particularly intimate, but the aquarium tank makes it a unique and quintessentially Disney dining experience.

San Angel really IMO has the best atmosphere, though the food was just OK the last time we went and I have not heard that it has gotten any better.

Sci-Fi is really cool

T-Rex is neat and the food was surprisingly good. But the very loud, very tightly packed in crowd kind of kills the atmosphere. We want to go back but will try a less crowded time/day. We would also share a meal.

I am sure you can split meals there. The portions are huge and they are not on the Dining Plan...can't see a reason why you couldn't share! Be sure to check the Landry's website before you go. Last year they had a $10 off coupon.

You can share meals at any restaurant except buffets, right? Just want to make sure because that may make a difference in how many reservations I make because DD and I planned on sharing at a few of the places where the portions are huge.

To me, the best atmosphere is Chef Mickey's. I have young children, and they love character meals. Their favorite is Chef Mickey's. It's fun, upbeat, you see the fab 5, and the atmosphere is like a party is going on. For our family, it's just a fun-filled, full of true Disney magic kind of place. No trip would be complete for my kids unless we went to Chef Mickey's.

Is it a buffet? Is it fun for adults as well. We love to goof off and take pictures. How much does this cost per person?

Cinderellas Royal Table at MK pricey but great atmosphere.

Our current favorite restaurant for atmosphere is Sanaa. The theming is lovely and unique and you can't beat the view of the animals on the savannah right outside the full length windows.

There are just too many to pick just one, so here is my list:

Crystal Palace..We love watching the faces of all the kids when they see Pooh and the gang come around!

HDDR...This is just fun and the food isn't bad either.

Biergarten...We love the food and the kids have so much fun dancing around with the band playing.

The list goes on but this is a good start

I do love the Sci-Fi diner in HS, being sat in those cars and watching the film screen of old corny movies gives it a nice touch and the milkshaks are gorgeous. Just as a friendly warning though, I found it a little bit dark for eating my food, but it is still one of the most memorable restaurants I've eaten in
