DW and I just got back from the World 2 days ago and it was really packed :scared: We stayed at ASMo because that's where the boss...4yo DD wanted to stay:banana: The bus service absolutely stunk at night! We would stand in lines for 30-45 minutes while Mods and Deluxe resorts ran regularly with buses only half full :headache: We would be crammed like sardines every night. I find this insulting to people who stay at Values either by choice or necessity. Anyways....already planning next trip for next year :rotfl2: What is the best resort to stay at for bus service if we don't decide to splurge for Poly or WL? We are also taking my mother who will be staying with us and she has bad knees and can't walk long distances and stand forever without tiring quickly. PLEASE HELP!!!:scared:

I have always thought the Value Resorts have the best bus service. I remember a few times waiting at night for the Contemporary bus at Downtown Disney for like 30 minutes and had already seen 5 different sets of buses for the All Star Resorts.

I've stayed at all 3 levels of resorts...CBR, Poly, AS Sports. Out of these 3, CBR was the WORST. Staying at Poly was great as we only needed to used busses for MGM and AK, and the bus service was OK. At AS Sports, the bus service was great (I thought).

CSR!! It's not shared with any other resort and the resort it's self is only 5 mins from AK, MGM and Epcot and 10 mins from MK.

I'm sure the OP really thought there were more buses headed to the moderates and deluxes, while she/he stood waiting for the AllStar bus. But, I have to tell you...when I'm waiting for the BW bus, it always seems that the AllStars have 4 times as many buses coming and going than BW.
POP has really good transportation...like CSR it doesn't share buses with other resorts. Yes, the lines can, and do, get long. But, they generally send more buses to the value resorts.
The deluxes, just by virtue of having the ability to walk/monorail/boat to at least one park, tend to have lesses bus service to the other parks. Yes, at BW we can walk, or boat, to Epcot and MGM. But the buses to AK and MK can be very slow. It's a trade off I think.

We've stayed at ASMu, POFQ, CBR, Pop, and Fort Wilderness. Based on our experiences, Fort Wilderness was the best and CBR the worst.

I agree also based on my experience. I always stay at the Swan and good thing only need to take the bus to MK, AK or DTD because while waiting I see more value resort buses going by.

We stayed at CSR in July and the bus service was awesome. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus and no bus was ever more than half full. The resort is spread out, though -- a room in the casitas section would probably be best for your mom.

During our stay a couple of weeks ago (September 12-19) All Star Music only shared a bus when returning from AK and DTD.
All of the buses going to the parks went directly to parks after pick up even when the bus was less than half full.
My friend and I decided in the early afternoon of one of our Disney MGM Studio days to head back to ASMu for a dip in the pool. We were the only ones on the bus that trip!

Last year we thought Pop was slow. We were longingly watching buses go by for the other resorts while we waited. Then this year we stayed at CBR and it was WORSE! At MK the bus stop is next to Pop and we had the que full at night and they did not. I think having multiple stops at the resort slows the buses down. This time DH wants to stay at a monorail resort. I really think that it doesn't matter what resort you are going to, there are going to be problems. Here's a strategy we joke about: Stay 3 nights at CR and go to MK, switch to BC 2 nights and do EPCOT and DS, switch to AKL 2 nights and do AKL!

I like the resort hopping option! :rotfl: We dream of staying in every hotel at WDW and that would knock a few down at once. :) However...DW would hate packing up every couple of days to move  And it seemed on this recent trip that DD wanted to go to MK more than anywhere  Maybe it was just the free DDP that made it SO PACKED and the bus service SO SLOW!!!
NOW, another question then...What is the best time to go when it's not busy but not in the middle of winter  ???
