We just found out that my mom is flying down next week while we're at disney and is going to watch the kids for us one night! Which means date night!!! (We have 6 kids, so date nights are rare and something that we get very excited about.)

We won't be going to a park that day, so we were thinking of hitting up a resort restaurant. Any super romantic places that you can recommend? We went to Narcoosees during one trip (we only had 1 child with us) and liked it, but I'm up for trying something new if there is something better. If not we'll see if we can get a last minute Narcoossee reservation.

I can't comment on what place would be romantic. I just don't view eating establishments as romantic.

I suppose any of the signature places might qualify just based on it being a very expensive, formal meal.

I was actually just thinking Chef Mickey's might be fun... We've never gone there without the kids, so never get to just sit down and eat and enjoy the atmosphere.

It really doesn't have to be formal or expensive - I just liked that we could see the Wishes fireworks from Narcoossees. Plus I love visiting the GF. We've only ever done character meals at Disney (aside from Narcoosees) so I don't know much about the others.

Just found the Disney food blog too (how did I never know that was there - it's awesome!) So that will help a bit!

You could definitely try Victoria and Alberts. That's probably the most expensive, least amount of kids, and most dressy. But if you want something similar to the atmosphere at narcoossees, try the flying fish, yachtsmens steakhouse, California grill, citricos, artists point, or jiko. Those are some of the better signature restaurants. You could even try shulas over at the swan and dolphin. There's lots of choices, it just depends on prices, atmosphere, type of food and location.

How is Ohana for a date night? We can take the monorail over, so it's easy to get to and we like the Poly. Haven't been there for dinner before either.

It's probably not the most romantic dinner, but you can always walk around the poly at night and that can be very romantic. The beach and the torch lit walkways are great. But I digress...lol...the dinner is great in my opinion. They bring salad, sides, etc and the chicken, shrimp (you have to peel it so it can be messy), beef, and pork come around and they carve it table side. Sort of like a Brazilian steak house. And I'll leave the dessert as a surprise haha. The food is great but they do cater to kids a lot, so it is pretty loud. Hopefully that helps. I definitely enjoy it, but as far as date night goes, that's up to you.

I would definitely recommend dining at California Grill in the Contemporary. When you make your reservations make sure to asks for a view of Magic Kingdom and your dinner time should be around the time of the fireworks.

What I remember from dating is that you are suppose impress your date regardless of gender or like relatives or parents? If he or she already has been to Disney world or Disneyland, he might already have a favorite or might want to try something new depending on the person or you can ask them? It might be a good idea for surprise, but remember some dates are picky eaters so we might ask them what kinds of food they like or show them some menus. I recommend taking them to Epcot where there are various restaurants with different cuisine. I would pick the Mexican restaurant in the pyramid or the one in the living seas ride with Nemo.

My wife and I enjoy signature restaurants for a quiet romantic dining experience. We don't really consider any of the park dining options to be romantic- too busy and hectic.

I would recommend California Grill at Contemporary, especially if you can get a reservation near Wishes (you mentioned you liked watching Wishes from Narcoosee's, CG has a platform devoted to Wishes watching)

Additionally, Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge is a great date choice.

VIctoria and Albert's is great; however, very pricey

The Swan and Dolphin Restaurants are great date restaurants as is the Yachtsman at the Yacht Club

So many romantic dining options those are just some of our favorites!

We like Ohana, but it is a strap on the the olde feed bag place & there will be alot of kids. I would pick Artist Pointe at WL.

Definitely California Grill. Ask for a window table. Not guaranteed, but DH and I have always been able to get it. We first went on our honeymoon and now go every trip that we go on without kids. :lovestruc

One of our favorite parts of our Disney trips is the food, there are so many great places to pick from. Hands down the best meal we have ever had was in The Queen Victoria room at Victoria and Albert's with the wine pairing, but it is expensive.
We have also dined at Flying Fish, Yachtsman, Artist Point, Citricos, Jiko, Chef de Paris before it changed, Blue Zoo as well as many other places in the parks. I loved Blue Zoo and Flying Fish. I wasn't really a fan of Jiko or Artist Point. The food was good, but we have eaten at places were the food was better.
We also did the Private Dining at the Grand Floridian. You sit on the balcony and have a private butler serve you. It was really cool, something different and romantic.
Now I'm thinking about all the restaurants we can enjoy on our next trip. Enjoy the kid-free night. :thumbsup2

I would recommend Shula's if you like steak - DH and I had a very relaxing and leisurely meal there.

I'd recommend yachtsman steak house at the yacht club. DH and I were very impressed and the decor was lovely!
