Hi.. which resorts are better for recreation and extra activities on site? I am travelling in Sept with my 5 yr old niece.. thanks!

Honestly every resort has great things for kids. It doesn't matter if you're staying at a value or deluxe. Every resort will have a pool with great theming, etc. Also, a 5 year old doesn't know what other resorts are out there, so won't have anything to compare the experience to (I'm guessing... it's been a while since I've been 5...). Anything on site is going to be a win, regardless of budget.

Animal Kingdom Lodge has a great kiddie pool, playground, and a zoo. Can’t beat it, but anywhere on property has great kiddie pools and decent playgrounds so really there are no bad choices. Also, always look for hidden Mickeys.

Thanks for the comments! I am kind of looking on which resorts have like recreation and planned activities for her age.. it seems like is between Poly and AK..

I like AKV for this age, either Kidani or Jambo. Request room closer to lobby for ease, but pools, animals, resort has kids activities and I know my daughter liked looking out the room at animals. But, then too it depends on how much time you’ll spend at the resort. If it’s mostly a race through the parks trip then premium resort is not an issue. Then too if it’s mostly a Magic Kingdom type of trip I would strongly consider Wilderness Lodge. Splash pad and smaller pool slide which my daughter at 5 or 6 went down at least 100 times.

Can't beat Poly. It's so close to MK, and you can monorail/walk to TTC to get right to the monorail that takes you to Epcot. Kona is one of my all time favorite restaurants. This is the place of so many Disney memories for myself as a child in the 90's. I could get Disney high on the fragrance of that lobby alone. That place is magical.

I've also never stayed at AKL (but Boma is another favorite restaurant)
