We will be going on the Disney Magic next February. When we return on Saturday, we need someplace to stay, our flight does not leave until Sunday afternoon.

What resort would you recommend for an outstanding pool, but allows for spots to sit with shade?

We burn easily and cannot sit out in the sun all day, but do like to spend a lot of time in the pool.

We have stayed at AKL, OKW, CSR, POR and WL in the past. I thought about splurging on one of the mononrail resorts since it is only for one night. I looked at CR pool area and there appears to be no shade at all.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas?

THANK YOU!:thumbsup2

When we stayed at the Poly this past January/February there was really quite a bit of shade around the main pool area. Lots of seating, tables with umbrellas and such. The area had a lot of foliage which kept it cooler, as well. If we ever do a summer trip this would be our first choice!

Loved our stay here! :worship: First time in our disney vacation history that we could easily hop from resort to 3 of the 4 parks without issue or delay! LOVED being on the monorail. :lovestruc

Best Pool in all of WDW - Stormalong Bay. Stay at the Yacht Club Resort or the Beach Club Resort. The only way to gain entrance, and they do check at the entrances, is if you are a BC or YC resort. Plenty of tall shade trees.

Unless you can get out to the pool as soon as possible in the morning, finding a shady spot may be very difficult.

Best pool is definitely at the Yacht & Beach. We were able to find alot of different areas of shade there (I agree that there is more availability in the morning but you can still find something later as well).

The Contemporary doesn't have any shade (unless you stay at BLT) - their pool is shadier. We were at the Poly last week and unless you got there early for a table - there wasn't any shade at all (they had 1 whole area closed which made it even harder to sit anywhere).

at blt the buildiing itself shade the pool.

(doesn't work so well in the summer)

you are better of then me - have to avoid the sun. so go out early morning and once the sun is setting - otherwise - stay inside

getting burn is not worth it. even with 100 sunscreen.

the quiet pool in the casitas section of Coronado springs has a lot of shade. it's really pretty, but that is one of the reasons we don't like it.

now that I think of it (since we are sun worshippers) one of the things we don't like about Old man Island at POR is too many of the loungers are in the shade. tons of loungers and tables in the shade.
