Now that the Main Street Bakery is closed, where is the best bakery in Disney World (resorts or parks)? I know that the French Bakery in World Showcase is great, and also The Land food court has a nice one, but I'd like to have some input from DVC members who know more about the different areas. Thanks!

Still open as a Starbucks and carries the typical Starbucks pastries.

The BoardWalk Bakery was recently expanded.

Beach Club MarketPlace has a bakery case. I particularly like the 'Apple Blossoms'.

I would add these to Boardwalk:
Starring Rolls in DHS
Kusafiri Bakery in DAK (Africa)

There are 3 bakeries at Disney Springs (not including the 2 Starbucks at DS):
Amorette’s Patisserie INFO
Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC (Vegan/Gluten Free) INFO
Sprinkles (Cupcakes) INFO

Gaston's in back of MK still has the cinnamon rolls that use to be at the Main Street Bakery.

Boardwalk Bakery would be my vote. Beach Club Marketplace does carry the same croissants, muffins, and sandwiches though. Amorettes in DS looked too intimidating to me LOL. Lovely cakes and cheesecakes though.

Does everyone think the cinnamon rolls are as good as they were in Main Street Bakery (pre-Starbucks)? I had one last fall and if that was the new standard I will not be trying another one !

France
Boardwalk has great sandwiches
Beignets @pofq
New amorettes patisserie Disney springs
Not in any order

Don't those have different icing?

It is a bit different.

They are still good enough to get some "to go" and eat the next am in the room.

DH and I didn't care for the icing on Gaston's cinnamon rolls. Is it a maple flavor or something like that. It was extremely sticky and very sweet. Not what we would like on a cinnamon roll.

No, those are different. Maple icing and very dry dough. Not worth the price at all. Like they left out the shortening in the dough or made it gluten free or something. They should be chewy and they taste like maple frosted cardboard.

When I did finally have the cinnamon roll at Gaston's they had 2 types of frosting. I was not impressed. It was at the end of the day so I thought that had something to do with the taste. Guess that are not very good at the beginning of the day either. I don't know why they turned the bakery on Main Street into a Starbucks instead of just serving their coffee brand. My DD and a tradition of spitting a hotdog meal at Casey's and than both getting a cinnamon roll at The Bakery. I miss both.
Starring Rolls have excellent cupcakes, hope they don't change to a Sarbucks too!
