We are going to Cirque at 6 pm, have 4 adults and 2 kids in our party.
Would like to be able to see the fireworks from the resort, probably not going to the parks.

Any suggestions? :goodvibes

Of course the NYE rates are outrageous!

If you would recommend a Garden room at the Contemporary if money is a factor, because those are the least expensive rooms among the Monorail Resorts and watching Wishes from the 4th floor observation deck would be the closest to the Magic Kingdom without being there on Main Street. However if you have a little more money you don't mind spending then I would recommend the Tower Magic Kingdom View at the Contemporary, so you can watch the fireworks from your own balcony.

Contemporary or Poly. I've been told that you can see the fireworks well for the beach at the Poly. The 4th floor observation dock at the Contemporary does have a good view of the fireworks (was there for the 4th of July)

Wishes was absolutly AMAZING from the Concierge's lounge on the CR 14th floor. :lovestruc We felt like we were up in the clouds w/ the FW's. The streamed the soundtrack. We sat and had dessert and coffee.

If you don't want the 14th floor, a Magic Kingdom view at CR would be wonderful. You can turn your tv to a station that plays the soundtrack as well.

Don't forget if the OP ever thinks of staying Club Level at the Contemporary, they can stay on the Atrium Club 12th Atrium Club, with a bigger lounge, rooms that are less expensive then the 14th floor and get the exact same services. Plus unlike the 14th floor standard rooms, the Magic Kingdom View rooms on the 12th floor can be reserved. Finally they can also get the Bay Lake View on the 12th floor and watch the fireworks from the 12th floor lounge balcony with the music being streamed in up there.

Thanks! Now if I can just digest the prices. :scared1: I'm used to going off season and getting either Florida Res. discount, or AP. No chance of NYE getting discounted, I know. Maybe the rates will come down :confused3

Your requirement for being able to watch the fireworks from your resort pretty much means that you are limited to the MK resorts. You *can* see some of the Epcot fireworks from the Epcot resort area from the bridge between the Swolphin and the Boardwalk, but none of the lower ones.

Yup, Robinb is right. The best views for fireworks are MK resorts. We did catch a few New Year's Eve fireworks from Illuminations from our lagoon-facing room at the YC last year. These fireworks were of course the ones that were high in the air and could be seen over the trees. We had a great room though- it was a corner room jutting out from the part of the building after the wedding gazebo with several windows facing in the direction of Epcot and one window (along with a balcony) facing Jellyrolls.
