I am starting to plan our next time which will be in 2009. I have two daughters. At the time of our trip one will be 4 and the youngest will be 2. My wife and I have been to the YC a couple of years ago. So we were hoping on staying at either one of the deluxe resorts or one the moderate resorts.

Right now I am thinking of one of the MK resorts. But unfortunately money will play a big factor in the final decision. So any help will be great.

Thanks,

Check out Wilderness Lodge, which should be less than the monorail resorts, but just a boatride away from MK and all the fun of FW right next door.

I would maybe think about a Studio at one of the DVC resorts. They have a queen bed and a pull out sofa. Not having 2 beds gives the little ones a little more room to play. You also have a refrigerator AND a microwave. They are about the same cost as a deluxe room. However, currently there are no DVC resorts on the monorail. There are 2 at the Epcot resorts, Boardwalk Villas and Beach Club Villas.

Good luck to you.

For a moderate, we like POFQ. The theming is beautiful. It is one of the smaller resorts, so everything is close by, and the food court is never overly crowded. We have tried the others and keep going back there. We have our bags packed as I write!

You might consider renting points from a VWL DVC member. WL is a short boat or bus ride from MK. Would be a little cheaper than any of the monorail resorts. You could either rent the studio which a previous poster described or you could rent a 1-BR which would give you a king size bed in the bedroom, a pull-out hide-a-bed in the living room, a washer and dryer in room, a full kitchen set up and a spacious bathroom. The 1-BR unit would still be cheaper than the rack rate at any of the monorail resorts. Unless there is some special promo at one of the monorail resorts, they are quite expensive. Just some suggestions for you. Good luck w/ your trip planning!

My vote is for the Animal Kingdom Lodge - kids that age will love the animals (kids MY age like them too!). The pool is great, and I think they have the best bus transportation of any resort (they come often and don't share with any other resorts).

For an MK resort, I would go with the Poly. Then check out WL beacuse you can take a boat ride to MK but the room cost is cheaper. Then CSR or POFQ would be my next choices depending on if the size of the resort matters to you or not. Check out my CSR wesbite for pics and info below.

We actually prefer WL to the Poly and other MK area resorts, not only because it is cheaper, but because we prefer the boat to the monorail and prefer the theming of WL to the others. The price difference between WL and other MK resorts can be quite substantial, though.
