Best Resort for D23 Destination D?

My husband and I have never been to any of the D23 expos, and are considering -- assuming things are open -- going down to Disney for D23 Destination D November 20-22, just the two of us, as a late anniversary trip since our planned 2-night Disney Cruise was cancelled. We currently have a studio in our home resort of BRV held, but are thinking of switching to Riviera to see what it's like and try out the Skyliners. Has anyone done the D23 Destination expos before in WDW? If so, is there a location or hotel that is best for it? Any advice would be appreciated!

I think Bay Lake is the best for that since the convention takes place in the Contemporary. Personally I booked at Poly my home resort and will try and switch when the 7 month window opens

I have BWV booked from Nov 14-20. Then we have Poly Cash room Nov 20-22. I really hope Destination D happens but I can’t help having my doubts. Waiting to hear about ticket sales, D23 site says late spring.

Commenting on a 2020 post because I have almost the same exact question. I saw Disney posted the 2023 dates and I’d like to make an attempt at going so I booked a studio at GF. Never stayed there before and I figured it’s only a monorail ride away. I considered BLT but I’m not a fan of those studios, and while it would be very convenient to be right there, I thought it might be nice to not be right there if that makes sense.

Thoughts from anyone that’s attended a Destination D23 event (or similar)? Will I regret not just staying BLT for the convenience?

I think you will be fine. I attended a few years ago and did not stay at BLT or CR. GF will be very convenient.

I think it depends on whether you are going to the convention or buying things or both.

if buying anything you don’t want to hold for the convention, then maybe stay at CR or BLT. If not, then any monorail resort will be good

The 2020 Destination D was cancelled but we still did this trip. Along the way switched from Poly to GF, my friend is a travel agent so she probably got a discount.
