My family just decided to go to Disney for Christmas again!!! (DH and I went this year for our honeymoon and I went once before with my family!) We are currently pricing our different options and arn't sure what the best move would be. There is 6 adults nad 4 kids. Would we be better getting 3 rooms at POP? Or a couple of family suites? What would be your suggestion?! We're at a loss right now - its a little overwhelming to book for this many people!

CSR is a great resort and is very well decorated for Christmas. It has an awesome pool and great transportation too.

I guess it depends on whether or not you want your time away from each other. 3 separate rooms would be good for that. ;)

I agree with renting points and OKW.

If your group likes to split up and has different tastes renting points at BWV or BCV makes sense, too. Epcot and DHS are within an easy walking distance or boat ride and with that you have the no hassle walk back after Illuminations.
BCV/YC share the wonderful SAB if a pool is a focus. Lots of nearby TS & CS as well as shopping.
WLV is a nice alternative for families with little ones for the bus or boat ride to MK, campfire nights, proxitmity to Ft Wilderness & their activites.

Have a great trip & try to relax when you're planning!

We too have a large group (11) and are weighing our resort options. I looked at the grand villas but it looked like they would run in excess of 6 grand for seven nights (and we need 10) with renting points. Is that the right ballpark for this accomodation? Please tell me I'm missing something.

What about renting points for a Grand Villa at OKW. Lots of Space!!!

Unfortunately, you are too late to even consider getting a GV at OKW for Christmas 08. They were booked in January. If you want to get an OKW GV, you need to make that reservation at least 11 months out.

You would need one grand villa for the 11 of you. If you need 500 points (totally making this point number up) and rent them for $12 per point it would cost you $6,000.

That roughly would come down to $90 per person per night for a huge space that includes a kitchen and washer/dryer.

Now take into consideration that I made up the 500 points, but go to the DVC forum and find out how many points it would really cost you. Or provide your dates and we could help you. However, as stated you need to get these accomadations well in advance.

I would agree that for the money renting points and staying in maybe a couple of one bedrooms may be the best plan
