Best RESORT counter service

One more vote for POR food court--the made to order pasta bar is so delicious. The kids and I are happy with pretty much anything, but even my picky husband agrees the food there is good.

DH and I both really liked the food court at POR we each had a different make your own pasta and both were huge and very good. We also both enjoyed the bakery items!!!

Captn Cooks @ POLY
Adult Grilled Cheese or Cheeseburger

I enjoyed Mara during my 2008 trip. I liked everything I had from them. Although, I mostly ate breakfast there.

In 1992, I loved the POFQ food court because of the beignets. Yummy!!!

No other resort CS has ever stood out to me.

Two weeks after AKL in 2008, I was at Pop for a week. What a difference in QS! It was the first time that I hated eating at Pop.

my favorite resort CS is the All star movies foodcourt. it was huge and we always found a seat. we ate there every morning/night (either breakfast or dinner). my favorite was the personal pan pepperoni pizza.i also like the ice cream choices they have. capt cooks is also good. im going in december and either staying at WL, POR, POP, or all star sports its great to hear everyone loves PORs and POPs food court.

The Contempo Cafe at Disney's Contemporary Resort and I actually have 3 favorite items on their menu and they are as follows. Their Chicken Ceasar Salad with the dressing tossed in, Pepperoni Flatbread Pizza and the Spice Crusted Mahi Sandwich. I also like their Corn Chowder soup which is their soup of the day each Saturday.

The food courts that we like are POFQ, Artist Pallette, the Mara and Captain Cooks. Don't forget WPE and Earl of Sandwhich at DTD.

We really liked roaring forks at the WL, the food was fresh and hot. Really good for counter service.

I wouldn't say that POFQ has the best food court overall, but we really, and I mean really, like the muffelettas and beignets. The ribs or ribs and chicken combo with sides during dinner hours are really good as well.

Capt. Cook's at the Poly for the aloha pork sandwich and chips with a Dole Whip for dessert. Yum.

I'd agree with POR food court. Love the make your own pasta, as well as, the salad too. Nice desserts to choose from. Tried the milkshake a couple of weeks ago and it was delicious, as are the sundaes. The option of using two cs credits for a large pizza with desserts and drinks was nice too.

Ate at the Poly for something different. I enjoyed the flat bread and dole whip, but they are more limited in choice. It was a nice break from MK cs, and a nice break from the parks. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere!

I haven't tried the Peppermarket, and have only ate cs at ASM-thought it was okay. Checked out cs at AK, the Mara(?) and will probably give that a try sometime.

We liked Artists Palette at SSR. I think our favorite item was the flatbread. It was really really good and they had a great selection of dessert. I had gotten a little tired of sweets and was able to get a fruit cup while DH got his usual chocolate something or other.

The food court at Pop Century is one of the reasons we love to return. IMO it is by far the best CS location of all of the resorts. There are just so many more options there than anywhere else including quite a few options that are not typical fast food fare.

That being said, Poly's Captain Cook's does serve Tonga Toast and Dole Whips.

Glad to hear this because we are staying at the Pop Century in September. What are these options that are not standard fast food fare? I am a diabetic so I want to avoid as much breaded, deep-fried stuff as possible.

One more vote for the POR pasta station. Had it twice on our last visit.

Also... another across the board recommendation for CSR's Pepper Market. I truly feel its TS-quality food on a CS credit. A little bit of everything. The stations take a little getting used to, but the variety of flavors available are sure to please everyone in your party. :thumbsup2

For me, it's got to be Sassagoula Floatworks at POFQ. I love their rotisserie chicken, also the beignets obviously :lovestruc

It would have to be POR foodcourt.Build youd own pasta bowl great only prob it takes the DD DS a little while to decide chicken or shrimp after that the sauce choices.:goofy:pluto:

I pretty much never stay at Coronado Springs anymore, and I'm not a fan of the resort. But the Pepper Market is, to me, the best counter service in any of the resorts.

Number 2 is at Kidani, LOL.

Count me in for the Mara at AKV. I first stayed/ate their last year and immediately loved it. I was afraid at first because the 1/2 chicken came with curry on it, but it wasn't spicy at all, it was delicious and I loved the cous cous and how can you not love eating Zebra Domes for dessert/snack...yummo! The flatbreads were also really yummy and my kids loved the foods too.

We ate at Picabu Buffeteria a few weeks back. There were 8 of us, from 1 years old to 51. First time and we will be back. Something for everyone.
Now here are the best parts.

  1. Everyone chooses their selections and you place your order at one location,
  2. One person in your party pays.
  3. Everyone else goes to a table.
  4. Here is the best part THEY BRING YOU YOUR FOOD (like Pei Wei "Partial Service")(See Kevin and John)
There is no waiting at different station for your food. No paying with several people with several trays. And "NO CARING A TRAY AND FINDING A PLACE TO SIT". Almost forgot the food was fresh and good. I included a link but they had a lot more to offer and took request. Sorry to keep adding to this but we also took back to our rooms doggy bags. Open 24 hours too.

Sorry but I forgot they give a 20% DVC discount. Our home is the Boardwalk but take quite a few meal at Swan & Dolphin.
