Iron has ceased to exist:guilty: Since we buy one so infrequently, I never know which ones are the good ones to buy. I no longer have a subscription to consumer reports.

Anyone know which irons are rated among the best (without breaking the bank)? Would love to spend less than $100. Thanks

We just bought a new Sunbeam two weeks ago, one with a stainless plate. (The water tank is lime green.) It was $35 and we are quite happy with it.

I'll be needing one soon too. I've done some research and a Black and Decker model (that I can't seem to find) is coming up as Consumer Report's number one pick.

Of course, it would be the one no one carries.

Not sure what I'll end up with, but it won't be another Rowenta. That's what I have now and I can't tell you how much I dislike the thing.

Sunbeam. Had one of those years ago... may just look into another one.

OMg! The Rowenta is the one that died, and I can't say that i was over the top about it either. Thanks for the info!
