Best RCI property?

Am considering a timeshare since my folks want to go and have one, but not sure which property we should consider. My parents want to trade the week they have in Cocoa beach and we need to pick a resort or two in Orlando to search.

We need a 2 bedroom unit that either has transportation to Disney, like a shuttle or is really close by to drive or if it's worth the drive we don't mind since we will spend some days at Disney, some at Universal, etc.

We would be going end of Feb so heated swimming pools and spas are a must. Am looking for the nicest/newer looking resort possible. We will have a one year old with us : ) We usually stay on sight and don't want to be disappointed!

If anyone has any recommendations and/or photos we'd appreciate it.

We have stayed at Orange Lake Country Club Resort and really enjoyed our stay. The resort itself was very nice and about 5 minutes from WDW. The condo itself was okay & pretty small for a 2 bedroom, but I think we must have got an older unit. RCI recommends Sheraton's Vistana, but I have not stayed there.

I have joined a "timeshare users group - tug" that is so wonderful. On this site you can look at all the different resorts w/RCI and II and they have detailed info (pics too) about each place. They are also rated by tug members, so it is pretty easy to see people's favs on there. The site is www.tug2.net Some of the site you can see for free and other parts ... like the resort ratings & bulletin board cost $10/yr. I paid the $ because I like going where I know my family and I are going to be the best bang for our $. I spend a lot of time looking at different places and what there is to do when we get there. If you were a member of Interval International, they have a ton of "vacation getaways" in the Orlando area w/very nice places .. several Marriotts.

Well, I went to the tug site and as far as RCI is concerned these resorts rated the highest ..

Hi, I belong to RCI, and I own at Sheraton Vistana Resort. It is the closest to Disney. You couldn't get any closer unless you were on Disney property, and they have a shuttle to the parks, but seriously, you are literally a 5 minute drive to the parks, and 3 minutes to Downtown Disney. I have also stayed at the Vacation Village at Parkway--very nice resort, not as close, located across from Disney's town of Celebration, on Rte. 192. While the Vacation Village at Parkway does not have all the amenities that the Sheraton Vistana has, it is still very nice, and very clean--but they do a tough sales pitch. Just be prepared. Any idea about the close fo the shuttel from Vistana to Disney and how regularly it runs?

We trade through RCI twice a year and our favorites are Vistana, Orange Lake and Silver Lake. Silver Lake is considerably closer than Vistana since it actually does border Disney property. I think you'd be happy with any one of these three. Have fun.

First shuttle runs at 7:55 a.m. and is about three times a morning, and three times returning at night. By the way, it is very easy to drive there. You won't get lost. On coming out of the Vistana, turn right. At the intersection, turn right again and you'll see the signs for Disneyworld. If you want to go to Downtown Disney, turn left on exiting Vistana, at the second set of lights, turn left again, and at the end of that road(hotel plaza road) you'll be at downtown Disney. We own at Vistana, also. It is a really beautiful resort with loads of activities and very close to Disney.
