According to the Mickey Monitor, you can now book Best Rate rooms through 2/15/06!! The blackout dates are 12/20 through 1/1/06. Good luck! It's going to be a busy night!

Well, looks like they jumped the gun on this one. I think the Monitor just came out today. They haven't updated the website yet. I'll keep trying. Please someone post when they see it's updated.

Yep. You are correct. It's in the Mickey Monitor, but the Web site still only goes up to 12/19/05. This stinks! I know it was a long shot, but I was still holding out for hope of discounts for 12/26 to 01/02. Doesn't look like it will happen though. No Christmas trip for us this year. If nothing else comes out, I'll have to cancel our rack rate at CBR. Can't justify spending $205 for a moderate.

I recently bought my AP. Is the Mickey Monitor e-mailed or do you get it from the website?

Joan1 - Log in to the AP Web site. Down on the right side of the page your will see the graphic for the download to Mickey Monitor. Right below that, there is a small link that says "Current Issue". When the Mickey Monitor opens, go down to page 7. It's the first article on that page titled "Book online for the best of all possible “worlds”.

I have a few questions... First is the "Best Rate" an offer only for AP holders? Is an annual pass valid for 365 days from the purchase date or is it valid Jan. through Dec? ...does the annual pass offer discounts most of the time with black-out dates or must one get lucky with dates? Are the discounts valid for disney cruises?
Thanks for any info I'm planning a Dec. 05 WL trip and a cruise in Aug. 06 if the annual pass offers good enough discounts on lodging it may be worth my money to invest now.

OK.. Can someone be so kind as to post what rates they are getting for value and moderate resorts? I'd really like to stay onsite but not if I can stay offsite cheaper.

The annual pass is good 365 days from the day that you activate the pass. You can buy a pass and book a room through the passholder site with your voucher. You wouldn't have to activate the pass until you arrive at WDW.

For November it was $109 a night during regular season and $94 a night for mods

Wonder if this means that the "old way" of booking AP rates is gone. If WDW is about to release AP rates for Jan/Feb 06 using internet booking, it appears that the ability to call CRO for AP rates may be gone. :sad2:

120 days from now is early December, it makes sense that they are looking into January because at the end of August you would already be within of the 120 days for January 1

If I get an AP and I'm going in late Oct/early Nov, does it mean I can't get an AP rate because I'm going in less than the 120 day cut off? Seems like a silly rule if that's true.

It means you can't book through the online Best Rate program. They are trying to encourage early booking. If a code comes out soon, you will still be able to call and try to get a room with the code. There is speculation that codes will not be released, but most CM's that people have talked to are convinced that they will. We should know for sure in a few weeks as if they are going to be released, most are guessing mid-August.

Oh.... Ok. So if I call now, I won't know for sure if there will be a code for my trip in late Oct/early Nov.

That's correct. Everyone is hoping that they do have a code. Even those of us who booked through Best Rate hope there still is a code released because we don't want to be stuck doing this every time. I would rather have a choice of waiting until the code comes out myself and not being tied in 120 days out.

So could I book now just to get my ressie in now and wait to see if a code becomes available? This would get my "foot in the door" so to speak.

Yes, that would guarentee you a room. The only problem is if that room isn't available with the AP code. For example, for early December, there haven't been any more rooms available through Best Rate for Wilderness Lodge. My personal opinon is that if they sold out the rooms at WL with the Best Rate, why would they release more rooms when the code comes out? That's just my theory, I could be totally wrong and Disney could be more generous then I am giving them credit for, but do you see what I mean? Just about all the deluxe rooms are gone with the Best Rate program. So, I am thinking there will be really limited availabilty with a code. I guess what you have to ask yourself is "am I willing to pay rack rate if a code isn't available for my resort?" I wish you luck and I really hope that a code comes out soon for you.
