Best Private Dining Room

Hi

We will be 12 people on this trip and noticed some restaurants have a private dining space that we can eat in by ourselves.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

The few that I'm aware of are for an additional fee/special events/special menu. I can't think of any that are available with a regular ADR (but that doesn't mean there aren't any). Were there any spots in particular you were wondering about? Citrico's has the Sommelier Room. It's relatively new so I haven't tried it but the reviews I've seen have been great. Wine Bar George has a backroom available for special events. I think Boathouse does as well. California Grill has some private rooms but those are booked separately through Disney Meetings & Events (i.e. they don't seat "regular" guests there and serve the regular CG menu). Not yet open but Takumi Tei in EPCOT has a private dining room where a special menu is served. Also, not yet open but there's the Chef's Table in Victoria & Albert's (one party per night and very difficult to book).

I’ve only seen private dining events vs a room For a larger group using the standard menu.

Here are my top suggestions

STK in downtown disney has nice private room
Citros has a nice private room at Grand Floridian
California Grill has two private room (Napa and Sonoma), but accommodate larger parties
Four seasons has two private rooms in the Capa rooftop restaurant and one in the lower restaurant Ravello
Waldorf Astoria probably has the best option as it has a super nice setup for a group like yours at the Bull and Bear

Pretty much every restaurant has an option to do something private, to varying degrees. Shula's can block off a portion of the room by just reserving tables in advance and letting them know you to have them grouped. We've worked with the GM to manage that before. Raglan has some options too-- there is this one room, in the main room, adjacent to the bar that has a wood and glass partition-- seats about 18-24. That can be reserved and they didn't charge us anything but we just guaranteed 10 ppl and that was enough, but we go there once a week or so. And, 100% Bull & Bear and La Luce has a nice option where I have had business dinners.

Back in 2014, we booked the Citricos Chef's Domain table (I believe this is now the Sommelier Room) for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. The max number of guests used to be 12 - I suspect it's decreased now - and we were able to select items from the standard menu, with a minimum overall spend. It was NP to get to the minimum with wine. We had a wonderful experience. We ruled out some of the other rooms at Disney-run restaurants listed above (e.g. Napa and Sonoma) because they required an event/catering menu, which was extreme overkill for our group. Jiko had a private room as well, but it was larger with larger minimum spend, and there were some other issues that escape my memory - doesn't matter at the moment, though, since they're still closed.

A couple of years ago, this topic came up, someone wanting to do a private party for 10-12 or so without the fuss of an event menu; there were some excellent suggestions for Disney Springs-area restaurants, which are often lovely and far less restrictive. Some great ideas above for off-site and Springs restaurants, and I'd also recommend calling any other places that appeal to your group at Disney Springs or maybe Swolphin to inquire about possibilities. Good luck!

(ETA - all of the above required specific emails/phone calls - it will take more effort than an ADR, but if you can call the restaurant directly, that is generally the easiest route.)

Il Mulino, Shula's, and BlueZoo all have private dining rooms at the Swan/Dolphin and are good restaurants.
