princess: I am torn between CRT or the norway princess meal at Epcot. My 4 year old loves princesses - food aside which one will give her the best princess experience???princess:

Now This is my first time to WDW,but I have got a degree in WDW from this site,so I am going to give you my answer, fellow dis'rs will be able to agree with me or disagree, so here goes,Neither food is just must have so we will put that on the back burner, CRT for breakfast and lunch will give you more princess interaction but at dinner the princesses are not walking around like they are at breakfast and lunch ,also if you are on the dinning plan this will take 2 TS,you will get a photo with CRT and a chance to eat inside of the castle.

Now PSB have the princess interaction at Breakfast,Lunch and dinner, and if you are on the dinning plan this takes only 1 TS,also I have found it is easier to get a reservation than CRT,and they have many lunch ressies still open during Sept 4-10th that is when I am going, also you do get your pic included in this ressie, the breakfast is the one that will be the hardest to get it serves American food,at lunch and Dinner there is a cold buffet with deli meats, salads, etc, and then you order your entree, which is a Norway dish, but for kids you are able to order the standard american food.

I choose the PSB for me and my 2yr old son,he needs to see all the pretty ladies and this place has them at all times.

CRT for dinner will only have Cinderella in the lobby for pictures - during dinner you will see (but not get to meet) Fairy Godmother and the mice.
Breakfast and lunch at CRT will have a group of princesses. Norway will have 5 princesses at all three meals.

I've only done Norway (will be doing both on next trip) - I can highly recommend the princess interaction at Norway (and our breakfast was good too!). I chose that one on the last trip because we were most interested in meeting princesses - it didn't matter whether we were in the castle or not.

We have done both for breakfast. I think the interaction with the princesses is much better at Akershus. However, if you have never done CRT and can get in you need to do it at least once. I am glad we took the girls there when we did but if had to choose between the two for a return trip it would be Norway.

We have done CRT for breakfast and PSB in Norway for lunch and we actually liked the PSB in Norway for Princess interaction. It was much better, we didn't feel rushed with them and they were extremely accomodating to autographs and photos.

We haven't done CRT, but were thrilled with the Princess Breakfast at Akershus.

This Wednesday was my older daughter's 7th birthday, and we had a 10:25 b-fast reservation at Akershus. We arrived a smidge early in the Fay induced downpour, and probably waited until 10:40 before we were called. At that time, we went into a line of a few familes to have our picture taken with Aurora by a Disney photographer. (Later in the meal, we were given a 6x8 and 2 4X6 of our girls with Aurora.)

After the photo, we were taken to our table, which was in a nook of about 5 tables for 4. The dining rooms were beautiful - lots of windows and a very regal setting. Our server took drink orders, and directed us to a buffet of fruits, pastries, flavored cream cheeses, and smoked salmon (YUM!!!). We returned to our table, and not long after, our server returned with a platter of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and DELISH potatoes.

While we were eating, we were visted by Belle (in her blue/white dress), Mary Poppins, Mulan, and Jasmine. Our girls had the chance to chat with all, they were very sweet to my daughter re: her birthday, and we took many pics. Our waiter brought out a fancy cupcake and b-day card signed by the "gang" of princesses.

While I haven't had the CRT experience, I was very happy with what we received for 1 TS credit. Food was above average, girls enjoyed time with meaningful characters, photo package was a bonus, and we used 1 TS credit per person. I would definitely do this meal again.

Having done both twice, I would say for your time, money and expereince I would vote Akershus. This last week we ate there 8/14, the kids got to meet Mulan, Jasmine, Mary Poppins and Aurora. Food platter that comes to the table by your server is yummy. The kids just wished they ould make princess crown waffles. For pictures we had Bell.

CRT is worth doing once. It is much more magical than Akershus. Norway is fine and a good option - we prefer lunch or dinner over the boring, blah breakfast there. I've noticed no difference in character interaction between the two, some days are simply better than others. We've eaten at both a combined seven times - soon to be nine - now so I feel like I have a decent amount of experience. :-)

That said, if it's simply about DDP economics, the fact that Akershus is only one TS makes it very attractive. If paying cash or on the DxDDP, I'd choose CRT.

I agree w/you... the CRT is more magical... just something about eating at the castle. The food was good for us (lunch) and my kids were thrilled w/the characters.. however, we did Akershus for Supper and the interaction w/the princesses was awesome. We saw five princesses... which was great for a little over an hour of time. We were not overly fond of the food..but the kids still had a good time.

So, if it is the princesses you are looking for ... Akershus. (also it only is considered 1 TS versus 2)

It sounds like both would be great - maybe we will just have to do both - not sure how sons (5 and 6) will like that - but my 4 year old will love it :lovestruc .

THanks for all the help

All little girls should get the chance to dine in the castle at least once.

I've done both and both are great. There is something magical about the castle though, which is why it's so expensive.

We had great princesses at both, and if you're with a Cinderella fan, she's usually only at CRT.

My DD was 4 when we went in May and is a total princess: I found a beautiful Belle costume and gave it to her the night before we went and told her we were going to have lunch with the princesses at Epcot. It was really lovely. She got to take pix w/Belle at the entry and was thrilled:worship: We got to meet Jasmine, Snow White, Aurora and Alice. I was initially concerned about the food, alot of people on here did not like it. But my kids had the mickey raviolis and they were good. DH and I had the traditional Norweigan meatloaf thingy (don't even ask the name, I couldn't pronounce it the first time, let alone spell it) but we were pleasantly surprised. It was really good. The cold bar with deli meats and cheeses was good as well. We were all very happy with our experience. My DS who was 7, was dead set against princesses. 'Do I have to take pictures with them?" Well, I wasn't going to force him, but Jasmine came around and convinced him, and that was that. Every time another one came, he jumped right up and had the devilish grin that only a 7 yo boy standing next to a beautiful princess could have! The cost included the photos of my dd and Belle, and we were even able to add them to our photo pass, so if we want to make more copies, we can! I don't think you'll regret it.

Enjoy! :yay:

We ate at CRT on our last visit. Due to making the reservation late, we had the 9:40 PM slot. We were actually the last seating of the night, and had a great experience with Cinderella. She visited with us while we waited to be called back, lots of hugs and kisses, and really made the whole experience. From there, the food and entertainment was extraordinary. The very best part was that the fireworks were right outside the window of the restaurant! The next time that we eat at CRT, we will make the reservations early, and ASK for the last seating. After all of the enjoyment to that point, we were pleasantly surprised that we had Main Street to ourselves as we headed back to our room! The park is beautiful when there is NO crowd. NOTE: Bring a tripod and take a timer picture with the lit up castle in the background behind your family!

They both are great, but I DEFINITELYprefer CRT!! The kids get a wand or sword, take a pic with Cinderella that they later give you in a card folder frame, you get a FairyGM and mice show, get to dine in the most beautiful castle in the world :lovestruc and I had the best food I've ever had in WDW.. FANTASTIC! :cloud9:

But if the important thing for her is meeting princesses you should choose PSD, same photo thingy as CRT, but with Belle. 4 princesses came to the table, but felt like a lot more! They just kept bothering us and wouldn't let us eat, haha

Definitely good, but CRT= MAGICAL!! :wizard:

Completely agree.

We are doing Deluxe DDP this Janaury abd have plans to eat at Norway, CRT, and added in 1900 Park Faire for another princess experience.

We are doing both in a few weeks. I'll try and remember to let you know which one we enjoyed more!

I've only done CRT. While the princess interaction was really good, I felt very rushed. For that reason, we are trying the lunch at Norway this year.

I know this is a little off topic regarding the meal but we too will be celebrating my daughters 6th birthday and I was wondering did you let them know in advance that it was her birthday or did you just tell her when you got there. I was looking at ordering her a cake for this meal but if they have cupcakes that would be fine as well.

We were lucky enough to dine at Akershus today, we had lunch there and it was FANTASTIC! We had Mulan, Cinderella, Aurora, Jasmine and Ariel at our 11.50 reservation. Our DD was absolutely thrilled (you know those moments when you wish you could just bottle them?) her favourite Disney Princess of all time is Mulan and DD was just amazed, Mulan was soooo sweet, DD went all shy and I told her DD was a little Overawed as she was her favourite and she went all out to make sure she made it extra special for her (and spent a little extra time with her). It was definately a Magical Moment for all of us and I am so happy because it is only our first day here! We really LOVED Akershus and will definately go back if we are lucky enough to visit WDW in the future. ENJOY!

We did CRT about 6 years ago, when DD was 6. It was a great experience, but she never asked to go back in any of our subsequent 4 trips. Last fall was our first with DS4, so I decided to get his picture with the princesses for later use. We went to the concierge at POR and she switched a reservation for us and got us in to Askershuh for lunch.

I will say that I thought the interaction with the princesses was great at Askershus. The only princess that gave any sort of time to my daughter at CRT was Belle. So for Princess Interaction, Askershus wins hands down in my book. Now to be fair, we were at CRT for a really early breakfast so it was pretty busy. We had lunch, and the last seating for Norway, so it was pretty empty.

On that topic, breakfast was breakfast and nothing stood out as either spectacular or horrible. We never encouraged going back because of the hassle getting a reservation.

Lunch at Norway was a different experience alltogether. I would suggest studying the menu. My DD11 and DW didn't like their food at all, DS liked his, but I think it was spaghetti. I don't remember what I had, but I thought it was OK. I sampled the other 2 and the problem wasn't the quality, just that they didn't like the flavor of the norwegian food. So DD11 and DW mostly ate cheese and coldcuts from the cold bar. That's the only downside that I would point out about Askershus.

Also, when we ate there, we didn't get a picture included. They offered to sell it to us, but we passed. We did have the opportunity to take the same picture that the Disney photographer took, and DW and I always use 2 cameras to take pictures of characters, so we didn't really mind not getting a photo. That's a great deal that they now include it.

Incidently, the Cinderella at Askershus was hands down the best Cinderella we've met. The one we had at CRT um, let's just say I'm not sure the other 2 would have been the ugly stepsisters. That's mean I know....
