:woohoo:Got a new washer! Now, need to buy some HE detergent. Who has it the cheapest??? Where can I find coupons??? Thanks!!!

I buy mine at Sears. They used to keep it upstairs with the appliances, but last time I bought detergent it had been moved to the paint department. Odd, I know.

A huge container sells for $20 and goes on sale for $15. I only use 1.5 containers per year for my family of four.

I buy mine at Costco normally since they have really large containers! Look for coupons on just Laundry Detergent also - because many of them are applicable to the HE washers!

Congrats on the new washer !

They have it at Costco and there is a coupon for it many times in the booklet they send to members. It's usually good for up to 4 containers.

I buy ECOS brand and it's all natural. It works for both HE and regular machines. You just use less for HE, so you get 510 loads in one bottle.

I buy mine at Canadian Tire or Costco. It's usually around $18 up here without a sale or coupon.

I buy whatever is on sale. I have found the big containers are hard to handle so I pour mine in the smaller plastic pour bottles (think mine are rubbermaid and hold 64 ounces or so). I found that it takes a lot less detergent too so I add water to mine in the smaller container. Makes it so much easier to pour in to dispenser and easier for teenage boys to help mom! They can't use excuse that they don't know how much detergent to add....just tell them to fill full now that is is diluted. I usually get at Costco with the coupons as others have mentioned. After seeing this might have to try Sears! I just got a new HE washer and dryer in April...enjoy doing laundry now! :laundy:

I find the best price/sale/coupons for HE detergent on Purex (Naturals too), All or Gain. They all work pretty well for us. Wisk HE seems to still make too many suds for my machine.

We are big fans of the Sears Ultra Plus powder! Its really affordable and does a great job too!!

I love the Target brand. Works as good as Tide.

I used to swear by this detergent before I got my HE washer, but I found that it faded my clothes and made them pill after I got the HE washer. I switched to Tide HE but its so darn expensive and have been searching for a good detergent since. My grocery store had Arm & Hammer on sale for $2.25 so on a whim I tried it, and love it as much as the Tide. I went back and stocked up.

Another vote here for Sears detergent. They have liquid, but I prefer the powdered variety (and it's cheaper). I've been using it for about 3 years, and I noticed that my clothes don't fade like they used to when I used Cheer.

Just started using the Sears HE in the orange box...this week our Sears had it $11.99 for a 180 load box...it seems to work well on stains. I keep stain spray and the Tide stain pacs on hand and use them if something is really bad.

We just stocked up on detergent. We found that All was cheaper than Tide - eventhough Tide had a $2 coupon. We are a little limited, since we like the scent-free and dye free varieties.

I believe all the Purex is HE safe now. I can normally get it for $1.50/bottle when it is on sale plus a coupon (which is pretty often). I have had a front loading HE washer for almost 10 years now and I pretty much use whatever is cheapest. IF it is not an HE brand, I just use 1/4-1/2 what it recommended. I have never once had problems with sudsing or with my machine.

I buy Gain HE, I like the scent and the price is much better than Tide or such. I can often get it on sale at Harris Teeter too.

I just went and checked mine. It's nox a box; it's a BIG plastic bucket -- like a paint bucket -- and it says 360 loads. I'm pretty near the end of this bucket, and the container is actually DUSTY. That's how long I've had it.

This bucket, though obviously I haven't bought in a while, costs $20 and goes on sale for $15.

Another Sears Ultra Plus lover here! We've been using it for about 3 years.. no problems and love the price! buy it on sale!
