Best Pre-trip Music CD?

Hello,

We are heading to WDW in Nov for our first trip as a family. My kids (DS7, DD4) have seen a bunch of the Disney movies, but we are by no means Disney junkies. I'd like to get some Disney CDs before going on the trip, so that when they hear music in the parks and on the rides it will be familiar to them (for example Splash Mountain should be more fun for them if they know Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah). After about 20 minutes of looking through the song lists for the various CDs on Amazon, my head started to hurt. Anyone have a good recommendation for the best CDs/collections to get everyone in the right frame of mind?

We have two of the Disney's Greatest Hits CD's. The have most of the major songs from all of the movies. They can be found at Target and Walmart. (they are black with a colored mickey head on it. Ours are green and purple.)
They each have about 20 songs on them. We like them!

Our family is also going for our first time this year!

We can't wait!

Disney's Music From the Park is a good CD and can be found used (or discounted) at half.com etc. It isn't the actual music, I believe it is re-done with today's artists. I have Disney's Happiest Celebration on Earth which I found at Wal-mart (it wasn't something easy to find, I just stumbled upon it, I THINK in the toy section, not in the music section). Anyways, it is available on amazon.com and has the actual music from alot of the rides. We skip some of the songs, but it did wonders for my small DS when we went the first few times, he knew the music and felt more comfortable and excited with everything.

I have all 5 "Classic Disney" CD's and would recommend volumes 1 and 2 the most - #1 has Zip-a-Dee, which you mentioned, and a couple of the princess songs, and #2 has the Tiki birds' song, Peter Pan, and the old Mickey Mouse Club song. Plus lots of others, of course, 25 on each.

My kids like Disney Mania 4. It has remakes of popular Disney songs sung by the kids that are on the current Disney Channel shows. It gets played a lot at our house, so I have Zippity Doo Da playing in my head over and over a lot!

I have the exact same two cd's from walmart and we listen to them on any car trip longer than 30 minutes but less that dvd movie length - the kids love to sing along almost as much as I do!!

I've been looking through those cd's to buy - and I noticed that 2 and 3 have a Micky Mouse Club song...one is a march and one is alma mater. which one is the classis M-i-c---k-e-y------M-o-u-s-e song? Thanks in advance!

I think we may be looking at 2 different sets (there is "Classic Disney" and also "Disney's greatest Hits") because I can't find that on my #3, but I EXPECT that the "march" is the opening song, and the "alma mater" is the closing song. Both spell M-i-c---k-e-y....

On my computer, I like to go to the web site www.live365.com. Then I type in Disney. Up pops all sort of stuff. There are even stations that play stuff from the rides and everything. I minimize it on my computer and crank the speakers. Love to go about my daily chores with this on. Kids like it too.

I just got the box set and it's great. The kids like to see who can guess the movie the song is from first! I found the box set on amazon.com for $18.xx - not bad for 5 cds! They will get a lot of playtime between now and December.

Thanks for all the tips. I'll probably end up going with the 5 CD "classic" set. It is probably more than I need, but the price is good for what you get. I can always load the best of the best on my computer from some of the hit and miss volumes.
