We are going next month to WDW.I have been looking at using a pre paid credit card.Has anyone used one of these in Orlando before and which ones the best.Thanks.31 days to go.
$2 fee to withdraw cash but nothing if your using it like a switch card
slightly better rates than anywhere else I have found
We took it to florida and mexico last year and had no problems at all, we had money left on it for this years and have topped it up last week at 1.48 so that gets my vote
So as i understand this thread about Fairfax Card once topped up with dollars you use it like a credit card in shops instead of cash and i won't get charges for using it .
You only get charges if you withdraw money from a cash machine.
No remaining balnace is given.
I used mine only last week in Florida-in shops only, in Universal/IOA/Seaworld/Disney Parks+Walgreens+Walmart,i made sure i kept all my receipts-knew what was on my card before i left home+every evening just deducted the amount i spent every day to give me a new total-took 5 mins out of my evening.I loved using this card and will carry on doing so .x.

Correct!!.
I withdrew cash from Walgreens-Fairfx charged me $2 to do so-but also Walgreens cash machine charged me $3-so a $5 charge in all(cash machines inform you of there charge and ask if you want to continue).Make sure when withdrawing cash you choose the credit card option.I only withdrew money in large amounts of $400(which is the maximum in Walgreens)-to pay for food in restaurants+counter service etc....All purchses in shops and supermarkets i used my card-with NO EXTRA CHARGES .If your amount is under $50 you don't sign-if over then you do-i also got asked for id only one time in the whole of our 16night holiday at the Emporium on Main Street(which was'nt a problem as we always carried our credit card sized laminated print outs of our passports with us-which are accepted by the way.).x.

Because i did'nt want shadow transactions put on my card by using it in a restaurant.(which means i would have had a hold of a certain amount of money on my card for a few days-restricting my available funds). This can be avoided by paying your bill with the card+paying the tip in cash, but to me that is too much mucking around, and i found it easier doing it the other way.
Besides it is always practical to have cash on you,x,
