My opinion is SAB and BCV is the best pool, but it is not a pool hopping option.
We've been taking our kids to SAB since they were babies. They are now 4 and 7 years old. My son will spend hours playing in the sand and water area, and my daughter loves the slide. My daughter took her arm swimmies off for the first time while we were there in September and began swimming by herself!
For us it is convenient because we are a family of 4 so my husband will go off with one child and do their thing and I will stay with the other and do our thing so not being able to keep track of the kids isn't an issue for us. It is a really big pool so that might be an issue for some parents.
The only strong current is in the lazy river area, IMO.
I love that the part of the pool surrounded by the beach has a sand bottom instead of the fiberglass bottom. Gives more of a beach feeling.
